we have nothing against the xbox as a whole

in fact, several of us [including me] own one

we are just VERY quick to point out its shortcomings,  and tend to bash mr gates [the devil] any chance we get

Well, it was certainly interesting to say the least. According to the lady who did the seminar, she said that the AUS and EURO XBOX will only have 8 Gig Hardrive (isnt the US a 40 gig?)

Also, the unit is massive, looks sooooooo ugly...

THe only thing I found really impressive was the bump mapping, and that is supposedly the only thing it can do that PS2 cant (is it true that PS2 cant do bump mapping??).

She showed a variety of tech demos, as well as some games not out in the US, such as Turok and Blood Ryen or something.

Both looked ok, nothing special. Again, the only impressive thing was the grass in HALO and the trees and Rallisport.

No the US is 8GB aswell. But some have 10GB harddrives.
But MS made it so you can only use 8GB with those anyways so.

Are you sure? Like, as good as the XBOX? Any games out with Bump Mapping on PS2?

The lady reckoned PS2 and Gamecube cant do it at all.

the lady was full of ****, PS2 can do anything XBox can do.  Bumpmapping just isnt built into the hardware, meaning its up to the developers to impliment it with their own code, taking more effort

expect Bump Mapping in Jak & Daxter 2  (they were going to put it in the original as a last minute thing, but ran out of time)

not sure if there are any current games with it, Fastson will know though  :)

Hmmm, does bump mapping use major amounts of hardware??? Also, what exactly IS bump mapping? To me, it looks like 3D textures, like, they aren\'t flat, they are almost polygons...

Either that or they are just incredibly detailed textures.

Someone please explain.
