I just got a pre-used PS2 from EB and the DVD parental control is set to level 1. I have tried the default Password reset but it just came back with invalided password! I was hoping someone could help thanks.

There is a way to reset it, which is found in the manual. However, I can nor remember the password.

I will let you know tomorrow if no one else leaves a response.

yeah its something like 1111 or 0000 something easy like that!!! look in the manual, it will be in there

I have tried the following pass codes and none of them have worked: . I have run out of ideas hopefully some one has run in to a similar problem and knows of a solution. Thanks

To fix your problem

1) Insert a DVD and let it start playing

2) Press stop once (not twice)

3) Go into the DVD menu without hitting reset

4) Change the level to off (Universal Unlock Code ****)

5) Press play

Ok Here goes:

1. Hold down the power button until you get the red light
2. unplug the PS2
3. Switch it with a new one from Wallmart

please DO NOT post the lock code here

its kinda buried in the manual for a reason

some kid could see the code here and unlock his PS2, watch some films his parents dont want him watching, and tell them where he got the code

It\'s the password for the parental controls for DVD movies. If you have it on, and you want to watch a movie over rated G (probably, I\'ve never had it on so I don\'t know for sure) then you would have to enter the code.
