World of ICO Online - PS3
« on: March 07, 2002, 08:34:27 PM »
Who would be interested in a launch game for the PS3 developed as on online world based on the astethics of ICO?

The characters would not be based off of the existing title for the PS2 but hold the gameplay and graphical presentation.

Personally, the first game was near perfect and a sequel would not fit into a storyline. However an online version based on a world before the era of ICO and Yorda. A prequel of sorts.

I am sure the PS3 would have sufficient power to really bring out Ueda\'s (ICO\'s developer) vision of the world of ICO.

Why would we have to wait till the PS3?  Besides that, just how would the world of Ico conform to the online world?  How could you make a game that works quite well as a single player game into a multiplayer game?  It\'s an interesting idea, I\'m just tyring to see if it retains any water.

Well, we wouldn\'t HAVE to wait for the PS3, but since Sony is developing a new technology for it, I\'m sure it will look very very very nice.

They could have it so that people online are grouped into pairs, Trios and such, and there would be puzzles where you would need two or more people to get past, (Cookie & Cream style).  The further you get in the game the more player cooperation would be needed until finally you would need about 5-6 people to finish the last level.

It would be excellent... but PS3 will be able to do 10x better graphics than ICO, so you don\'t expect graphics as good as ICO, expect an almost real world :surprised
