Can I ask a question

In reading all this stuff about the wars in the middle east, I have to ask a question.

When we were first hit several people blasted america for going over there and taking care of business in Afghanistan becuase there might be casualties to regular citizens.  So we do our best to fight a clean war and for the most part we did.  

Now with the whole palestine, Isreal thing, why doesn\'t anyone come down on them.  They are doing nothing militarily against each others military.  They are just lobbing bombs and shooting each other.

Why does America have to sit on a higher plane than other countries?  We have more people over here *****ing about the treatment of those criminals in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba than they do in their own country.

I guess it makes us feel better about ourselves being "God\'s Country" and therefore everything we do has God\'s blessing.  If we didn\'t "Care so much" about the people we\'re bombing then the war effort would just be another gang war.  "They shot up our turf, so let\'s go do a drive-by on their a$$e$!!!!"

I basically agree. We are bashed for being the policemen of the world. Now Kuwait is singing an anti-American song.

They hit us. We did not pick this fight. I think it\'s a little deeper than doing a "drive-by on their a$$e$!!!!" If we don\'t put a stop to this they will not stop hitting us. We need to show them who is boss to gain respect. It\'s sad but true. They hate us because we are successful at being Americans.

Gang war my a$$! It\'s about protecting our people, not just our land. This isn\'t a war between a couple bullies, this a war against all that is killing innocent lives! Gang violence is senseless.

These people are basically still in the dark ages, socially and mentally. Therefore they will keep doing this crap unless we obliterate them. There is no negotiating with these people. There can be no deals made. They will lie, cheat, steal, rape, & destroy until they are stopped. They want Islamic states, which means they can treat women anyway they want, commit genocide whenever they want, all in the name of Allah. Well, as westerners, we disapprove of that. We start showing our disapproval by instituting a financial embargo against them. We don\'t like the way you run your country, we don\'t do business with you. It\'s that simple. Their response? I think we\'ve seen their response. They are hard-headed, egotistical, maniacal, cold-blooded killers and will not stop until we stop them.

I heard a very good analogy the other day, can\'t remember where, but it went something like this. Our religion, christianity, has been around oh 2000 years, but remember about the 1000\'s we were going along with the crusades. Now there religion is only a thousand years old, and they are acting like we were, but in a more technological and horrible way.

There is no excuse for Genocide. There are better, if a bit more difficult, solutions to this problem than the eradication of an entire culture. The problem is, finding a solution that works.

As far as Israel and Palestine is concerned, I don\'t side with one faction or another. Arafat and Sheron are BOTH terrorists, and should be dealt with accordingly. Didn\'t this whole string of recent violence start with a few Israilli military men being beaten and run over by Palestinian rebels? Israiel should have handled the situation far better than by sending in the military to occupy Palestinian land. This whole incident makes me think that Israiel was just WAITING for the Palestinians to give them any excuse to come in and take their land from them.

That palestine/Israel war is pretty bad.  I watch the news at 4:00am every morning, and they do this thing where they go through the day, hour by hour, and show who killed what, how many were injured, etc, during that hour.  I was shocked the first time I saw that the war was so bad.  It is a constant thing, every day.

But unfortunately I really don\'t think it will stop, and there is nothing we can do about it.  Bill Clinton tried to stop it, but it didn\'t help anything.  And I think Pres Bush tried to help them out recently (like in the past couple of days), but as of right now, it hasn\'t changed anything.  I guess if we can take anything from this, we should realize how lucky we are to be living in the areas that we live in.
