Hows DVD Region X for £3.99?
« on: March 09, 2002, 11:58:18 AM »
Yep thats right you can get it for £3.99 and not £19.99. Its on the latest issue of PSi2 Magazine.

Basically - if you don\'t know - PSi2 is owned by Datel (the company that made the action reply and region x products), so basically their mag is full of reviews and ps2 action reply codes. Well it seems that a new DVD region X type product has been released by another company which doesn\'t require a memory card therefore Datel are giving theirs away on the front of their magazine - well thats my guess as to why they are doing this. Prehaps they are just being generous.

So if you don\'t mind swapping discs and want to be able to play any region DVD disc through an RGB scart cable (without greenscreen) for £3.99 then make sure you pick this up. :)

The old Region X\'s came with their own memory cards known as a Dongle. All the new ones don\'t come with this dongle and use your own PS2 memory card instead. The one on the PSi2 magazine doesn\'t come with a dongle.

I think the rumours of it knackering saved games are false. It hasn\'t harmed mine from what I can tell so far.

Just one memory card is required so you should have no trouble using this product.

Yeah my local WHSmith has now sold out. I got my magazine from there.

Its Issue 18 which you want to look out for. It has that monk from Virtua Fighter 4 on the cover of the magazine.
