You are right about the working title, what a shame. Well all that aside though, the movie will rock just as the others did - plain and simple.

I too am a huge star wars fan. I remember seeing "A new hope" at the drive-in when I was 4. It literally shaped the way I grew up.
However, I think I will be disappointed by this one. I hope I\'m wrong. Too much CGI. (I know, I know, a fraction of the cost of physical models...) Somehow it just doesn\'t seem... right...

I love Star Wars too... but these new movies are pathetic, to say the least.

I couldn\'t believe what I was seeing the first time I saw Episode I. It was like a tech demo from Industrial Light & Magic. Where\'s the story? Where\'re the great scenes of the first trilogy?. And what the hell is that lame theory about the force?.

Even if you love Star Wars as much as I do (or even more), you\'ve to admit that the new movies are far from being at the same level as the original ones. It\'s a shame, but it\'s true :(

The funny thing is that I\'m pretty sure that I\'ll end up going to the cinema, just to know that I\'m disappointed... again :/
Whatever

The Phantom Menace did not "rock."  It didn\'t come anywhere close.  I will see the 2nd film of course, but I\'m a movie fan and I see all kinds of crap.  Needless to say my standards are high for any Star Wars film and I refuse to lower them.

It\'s all going to come down to whether Lucas can wake up and figure out who is market is for these films.  I was 10 years old when the first one was released in 1977, so I was the perfect age to be drawn in and consumed by these stories.  Now that I\'m an adult, I look back and apprecate the adult aspects of the first three films.  The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite because it\'s the meanest, dirtiest, and scariest of all the films.

When I see sh*t like Jar Jar Binks, it makes me want to vomit, and I don\'t understand why Lucas is so determined to make films that are baby-friendly.  It wasn\'t just Jar Jar that was the problem either.  In TPM I never felt any tension because I never believed that any of the characters were in jeopardy.  For example, the Jedi Knights knock down bots like they were keystone cops... the princess moans about "our people are dying senator" but you never see anyone dying... the seamonsters look like big Jim Henson muppets.

Lucas needs to understand that unless he can raise the stakes quickly, these three add-on films are going to forgotten as worthless tripe.

Well, I promised more pictures if more replies came to the thread and there we are.

Coredweller:  Even I will admit that Episode 1 wasn\'t all that it was supposed to be.  But it is hard living up to that whole Star Wars feeling.  I feel the franchise was on a downturn starting with the introduction of the Ewoks in Episode 6.  It\'s just that things are starting to pick up now and no matter what Lucas did with Episode 1, I don\'t think it would have appeased fans regardless.  Some people called EPisode 4 the death of Western culture... but I guess we know what happened after that.

Yeah well, he\'s supposed to kick ass, but Lucas ruined even that in Return of the Jedi.  Fett had developed some kind of cult following after the second film, so Lucas should have rewarded his fans... INSTEAD he killed him in an idiotic way.  As I recall, Han Solo taps his jetpack with a polearm, fires the jets, and then Fett tumbles into the mouth of the Saarlack.  It\'s so typical of Lucas.  I\'m sure he\'ll find some way to ruin Fett\'s role in this film also.  Not that it matters to me.. who cares?  I\'m losing interest rapidly.

thats one thing that bothered me, ep1 was so damn colorful, why?  i didn\'t mind all the cg stuff, a lot of movies now have a lot of cg in them, but lucas should use cg tastefully.   i remember a statement he made on tv during some interview with him at skywalker ranch, he said that he now has the proper facilities(tools) to make the star wars movies the way he intended them to be.  i hear a statement like that from him, then see ep1, and think to myself, "he thought star wars should be a circus?"
i still think the movie will be fun, and hell, he made like a billion dollars on ep1, what do you think he will make on the 3 year hyped ep2?  cause come on, its all about the benjamins isn\'t it?

Episode 2 is not going to make anywhere near the boxoffice that Episode 1 did.  No one knew what to expect with TPM, but now that they\'ve been burned, I guarantee there will be many people who will stay away.  Sure there are the die hard fans, and the general sci-fi and movie fans like me, but the people who don\'t especially care will think twice before going to another Star Wars film.
