Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
« on: March 11, 2002, 05:55:16 PM »
I love Star Wars.  (I love Star Trek as well, but Star Trek movie fever hasn\'t hit me since it\'ll be awhile until that comes out later this year).  Anyways, I wanted to get this thread going seeing as how there\'s a little over a month until its release.  I am very excited about the film and I just wanted to see who else here are Star Wars (or Star Trek) fans on this board and who else enjoys the films like I do.

To move things along, here\'s the latest full length 3 minute trailer just released yesterday.  I have it in three varieties for you all to view and it should be noted that the downloads are rather high so narrowband warnings are in effect.

http://starwars.apple.com/ep2/clone_war/clonewar_lg.html (requires Quicktime Pro v. 5) 31 megs.

http://planetmirror.com/pub/movie_trailers/ep2_clone_war_p640.mpg (mpeg version, requries WMP 6.4+) 28 megs.

http://starwars.apple.com/ep2/clone_war/clonewar_md.html (medium res, requires Quicktime v. 5) ? megs.

Post your thoughts of the trailer.  I\'d like to see some people react to this thread first before I post my opinions on it.  I have made 25 screenshots from the trailer as well which I will post later if some people reply. :)

Oooooh WOW! Jedi Battle 2 for the Xbox is near completion I see! Looks great! Another AAA title! :D

Ok, so there was no point to that. Big deal. I didn\'t think the trailer looked all that good. It looked like a stoopid movie to me, but then again I\'ve never been a fan of Star Wars. The first three were ok, but Episode I and (from the impression that I get) the trailer for E2 look like Lucas is just trying to "One up" everything about the originals while ignoring what made them good movies in the first place. Just more mediocrity with a SW title to boost sales, just like all the games they\'ve been producing lately.

I\'ve always loved Star Trek though. Haven\'t kept up too well with DS9, Voyager, or Enterprise.. but the original and ST:TNG were great. I really like how in TNG, they focus not so much the technology.. but on the personal lives of the people on board. It really gives their characters some true depth, and makes the viewer start to actually care about what happens with the cast. My favorite episode is where the enterprise runs across that probe in deep space, and Jean Luc ends up living an entire lifetime within the span of about 15 minuites.

Plus, Star Trek has Q.     Q is the Shiznits.

hehehe..  It\'s just that every clip I see is 99.9% CG.  I don\'t even know why they bother with real people at all.  Oh well, as long as they bring back Jar Jar.  He\'s Bob\'s Hardwares faborite little buddy.

And your three links blow.  None of them are working.  What up dog?

i\'m not a big sci-fi fan, but this movie is gonna be very impressive.  Hell even if the story sucks, I will at least appreciate the technical aspects of the movie.  But then again the story is probably pretty good, ok I\'m babbling....well the movie should be pretty damn good....

I\'ve never been much of a SW fan, but I can say that if the trailer I\'ve seen is anything to judge from, this is a movie I won\'t be seeing anytime soon.

"I didn\'t think a Jedi was allowed to love...". Yawn.

BTW, who else thinks that Hayden kid sucked at acting (at least in the trailer)? Hell, even I could have done the \'angry teen gets pouty lipped\' part better.

But whatever floats your boat. :)

Well I\'m a frellin (Farscape pun) huge Sci-Fi fan, been a trekkie since I was 9 years old....that\'s almost 10 years now.

Anyhoo, I\'m not a huge Star Wars fan, but I give it the respect it deserves. Personally I prefer Star Trek, Babylon5, Farscape and even Andromeda.

I’ve been a Star Wars fan all my life and this movie looks wicked cool man! Can’t wait till it comes out. I have all of the other movies at home and I watch them frequently as well as my Star Trek movies. I’m not a sci-fi geek, I just love the movies. You won’t catch me dressing up like C3-P0 or Like Skywalker at any costume parties, that’s for sure. Any-who, the movie looks like it will be great. I’ll be there when it come to the big screen.

I like star wars sure, but come on...Attack of the Clones?! It sounds like some corny 80\'s horror flick. Slightly unoriginal.

The title that I read on the books was "Star Wars - Episode II The Clone Wars", not attack of the clones. If Lucas chose your description of the movie, he would have made a grave mistake.;)

I am a huge Star Wars fan and have been looking forward to this movie for quite some time now. I think the working title is Attack of the Clones like someone mentioned, but I am not completely sure. If you have read the books then you\'ll understand why this title is appropiate. Does anyone collect Star Wars toys? I used to but it got addicting so I sold my collection off on eBay. I had over 1000 original figures, about 50 still in their original packaging and nearly every original playset. Sold for over 5 grand.
