Most of them are fugly as hell, bunch plastic things stuck on the car which have no practical meaning at all.
And why on earth did they paint the engines what\'s the purpose of painting a cars engine.

The best one I would say is the Porsche, least of the unecessary plastic addons.

Yes,many of these are "overdone" imo, but the black NSX gets my vote.
The Skylines are cool also. I never saw one on the street, cause they are not sold here. I´d like to have one, the insurance would kill me though.

The engine bays aren\'t painted, those are colored plates you can put on them, to replace the stock one.  The wings on the back aren\'t just for show ethier. Those are there for a reason, that reason providind "DOWNFORCE" for the vehicle.

We (my dad) bought an NSX about 10 years ago.  I remember getting a few rides in it, but he didn\'t want to take it out cause he didn\'t want to ruin it:D .  We sold it to some people 3 years later.

And road cars have no need for extra downforce, and I was talking about the thing they put on the front of the cars, yes it does channel the wind under and around the car better, but they don\'t need it, another thing these guys are doing is lowering the cars so much that they can\'t drive on a normal road anymore, one little rock or a speed bump and the front is ruined.

These are all just things for showing off and have no practical value what so ever, I have nothing against showing off, but when they detract from the driving ability of the car (making them so damned low for instance) that\' just plain stupid.

Thats what a fully adjustable coilover kit is for, you can raise and lower the vehicle several inches in alot of cases. As for the bodykits and such, one could say whats the point of a car without a bodykit as well.

Some of these are not only race cars, but street/show cars as well. Its not uncommon for ppl to powdercoat, ceramic coat, or anodize engine parts nowadays. Some actually have good reason too, like ceramic thermal coatsing which can leave a chrome like finish on certain things.

- Wow dude, how much faster is it now?
- Well the chrome like finish along with the extremely expensive front and rear plastic thingies I\'d say it goes like 10-15 miles faster than it used to.

There\'s no need for extra plastic and a chrome like finish on road cars!!!

Heat dissipation. As for the kits, it\'s called good looks, in some cases anyway, some are just plain tacky. Me for example, I dont have a wide-mouth bodykit yet, but I will in the future. Know why?..nice big opening for my FMIC. Now is any of this starting to set in and make sense?

But seriously, there\'s no need for that on a road car, you just spend a whole lot of money to be pulled over by the cops, your car will never really flex it\'s muscles.

Why won\'t it flex muscle? Why cant I have a street/strip monster? We are currently building a 10sec street/strip/show beast. Will post pics as soon as its ready. In my old car..kitted out and other typical products, I never got pulled over for something I wasnt guilty of, same with this current car, so no biggie.
