NEW TOCA SCREENS RACE IN

Codemasters has released new information on the story element of TOCA Race Drive along with four new screenshots

15:13 We\'re intrigued by TOCA Race Drive for the simple fact that Codemasters is trying to do something different with the racing genre by adding a strong storyline. The game will see players taking on the role of Ryan McKane, a troubled racing driver who is trying to both live up to his father\'s reputation on the racing circuit and also contend with his brother Donnie\'s success.
Story elements will be driven by character-based narrative sequences throughout the game. Rivalries and friendships will be formed between Ryan and other characters and drivers, and Codemasters his hoping that this emotional element will give TOCA an extra edge.

Codemasters is keen to point out that this story feature won\'t overshadow the racing element of TOCA Race Driver. Which is just as well, because at the end of the day, it is a racing title.

TOCA Race Driver is due for release in June 2002. If you want to know more about the game, then head on over to the official website.

Sounds good.

As long as the Racing is actually as strong as it used to be.

I always felt the TOCA games including Jarret and Labontte Stock Car Racing (TOCA 3 at it\'s heart) Where some of the best racing sims on the Playstation.

I can\'t wait for a PS2 version.

One thing I always liked was the damage that effected the cars handling, Blown tires, Blown engine, pit stops and more than just 6 cars on track. Those are things the GT series could never boast about.
