You\'re opinions if I should sell PS2 for Xbox

I know this is a PS2 forum so most of you will say I should keep my PS2, but the thing is, there\'s so many great games coming out for the Xbox, also, lots of great games coming out for the PS2 but alot of them get ported to the Xbox anyways, and with the Xbox I get way better graphics, and in overall the Xbox is just much more powerful than the PS2, have any of you guys played Rallisport challenge on the Xbox?  It simply blows Grand Turismo away in the graphics department!  Anyways, here\'s some reasons I\'ve got for thinking of doing this, maybe you guys could tell me why I should stick to my PS2, but I just dont know anymore, what\'s the next big game for it?  

Some Xbox games I want:

Rallisport Challenge:  Simply awesome graphics, not possible on the PS2 there\'s no way, not a chance that you would ever see these graphics on the Xbox.  It\'s not just the graphics but also the gameplay, damage, depth, everything about this game is great.

Halo:  Best FPS ever, played it at my friends house,  and it really is as good as people say it is, never experienced a game that was this much fun multi-player, a real cool thing is that you can choose to either do the missions by yourself, or with another person, and it takes alot to beat games that support cooperative play, with awesome frame-rate, sweet graphics, and unbelievable gameplay.  The ability to use vehicles is really cool, especially if you can jump on the back of the jeep, while the other person drives the jeep, huge levels, hardly any loading times.

Project Ego:  Finally a game where you can do pretty much whatever you want, well not exactly, you\'ll never be able to do whatever you want in a video game, but this will be the closest do accomplishing that ever in a video game.  Just go to http://www.planetxbox.com/projectego/  and start reading, and checking out the screens, dont look at the video though, it\'s bad quality video because it\'s taped off from a TV screen.

Elder Scrolls Morrowind:  What Project Ego is, just not quite as deep, and not as good graphics, still a very deep RPG, kinda like Daggerfalls on the PC I heard, haven\'t played Daggerfalls yet, morrowing releases in about a months time from now.

Start Wars Nights Of The Old Republic:  Exclusive for Xbox, first Star Wars RPG ever, go to just go to ign xbox, or http://www.teamxbox.com and check this game out, you will be amazed if you like start wars.

Breed:  Kinda like Halo, also exlusive for Xbox, vehicular combat, and FPS, sweet graphics.

Brute Force:  3rd person alien blow em up game, looks real sweet, also exlusive for Xbox.

Dead Or Alive 3:  Sweet graphics, sweet chicks, sweet gameplay, arcade fighting at it\'s best.

Bruce Lee: Quest Of the Dragon:  Bruce lee, adventure, beat em up, perfect combination. Exclusive for Xbox.

Sega GT2002- Exlusive for Xbox from Sega, Xbox\'s grand turismo fix.


I could go on and on and on, after I bought the April issue of Official Xbox magazine, and checked the top 100 games of 2002, I was amazed, and I\'m sure you guys would also be amazed.

Couple questions.

Will Grand Theft Auto 3 remain only on PS2?  I heard it was supposed to come out on Xbox, if yes, there\'s no reason for me not to get an Xbox.

Will Pride Fighting Championship stay exlusive on PS2 when it gets released?

Why not get an Xbox?

When I said not a chance for these graphics on Xbox, I meant not a chance for these graphics on any other system besides the Xbox.

If all you want is graphics, then I say just get a super beefy PC and keep upgrading the SOB everytime a new Nvidia graphics card comes out. The Xbox is top of the pile for right now, but as far as graphical horsepower, it\'s already well on it\'s way out. (Now we just need some games to take advantage of that power)

I say, do what you feel. You don\'t need our permission or our blessing to sell your PS2. If you think the Xbox has more/will have more games that interest you.. then by all means sell your PS2 and pick one up. The Xbox is a great console with a long life ahead of it. Personally, I\'d jus save up and own both of them.. but that\'s just me.

Oh, and if you plan on playing games online then I hope you have a broadband connection. The Xbox only supports Broadband, so us 56k\'s are fukk outta luck this generation. If you want online play on Narrowband, keep the PS2... or better yet.. buy a buy a Dreamcast as well to tide you over till the PS2 officially goes online.

It looks like you\'ve done enough research on the Xbox to know you want one...

Personally, I\'d jus save up and own both of them.. but that\'s just me.

Also, alot of those games you want/interested in aren\'t coming out until the fall.  Why don\'t you just save up and buy one later...

I would not recomend selling any system to get another. I sold my Sega Genesis/ Sega CD to by my playstation years ago and now i wish i had kept it. There are many good games for all systems. Don\'t restrict yourself to just one. I still use my Dreamcast and my PSone as well as the Xbox. As for the PS2 my Daughter has Claimed that for herself, but I shall get that back when Resident evil comes out for the Game cube.

Billybob, sounds like you\'re going to the dark side! look what it did to me.   The Xbox graphics has just gettting started.  I just got  Rallisport challenge and man is this a dream come true or what.  It makes halo detal texture look like N64.  Un damn real!1   I can\'t wait for Breed and Brute Force!

If the games you want to play are on Xbox then go for it. You can always by another PS2 later on when the price drops

I personally have no  use for 2 consoles but since most of the Xbox games I am interested in are going to be on the PC I think I might actually invest into a PC upgrade instead

plus there are quite a few PC games I would like to play and can\'t

so I have to make a choice if I can even choose one this year do to about $12k of upgrades to my house I\'m striving for before winter, besides a possible lay-off or strike this year.

and for me I\'d get much more use outr of PC upgrade then a 2nd console

Well if you want to be spoiled by breathtaking graphics, you can\'t go wrong with a nVidia GeForce 4 (preferably the 4600 cause of speed) or an ATi Radeon 8500. If money were no object, and you want hardware that can get you the absoutle best looking gaming performance with the best speed, do yourself a favor, and buy yourself one of the 2 graphic cards I just mentioned, and a P4 2.2 and overclock that SOB to 3.0Ghz, and there you go.

Buy whatever games turn you on and which one has the most potiental for releasing software that you like and not just impressive specs.

From what I’ve heard.. Yes.. This game (maybe even the series) is now a PS2 exclusive.

If you are after graphics.. Get a PC (GF4, PIV 2GHz 1GBRAM bla bla bla) with a high-res monitor and a good broadband connection
