Picked up Virtua Fighter 4 today!

I\'ve seen the water stage while fighting in \'Kumite.\'

The game is wonderful, unfortunately, the textures are bland in many areas, and I won\'t even mention the jaggies,. oops. :D

Honestly, you should go out and get this game, because the game itself has tons to offer and is amazing. I am however, slightly disappointed with the graphics. The good thing is, once you get into the game and are too busy having fun, you won\'t have time to see any kind of disappointment in the visuals.

VF is gameplay first, graphics second. Not to say that the graphics are bad because that is far from the truth. Character models are great and detailed. Lighting is nice in some areas, and I absolutely love the animation and the way characters react to hits. Despite my loyalty to VF + SEGA, some truths cannot be hidden, and I will not blindly say that the game is perfect in every way.

I picked mine up yesterday.  I was kinda upset about the jaggies jumping down my throat (Runnning Monster Cables), but they are probally enhanced by my cables and TV.  They aren\'t as bad as most people make them out to be tho, and at times seem to go away, and but as U play it and become immersed in its deep gameplay U\'ll have very little time to pay them any mind.

This is my 1st fighting game since Tekken 3, and I enjoy this much more.  I\'ve never really been too good at fighting games, and a lack of an explanation of how to execute moves made them boring to me, as i just mashed buttons.  VF4 ends this for me, as it makes it easy for an old newbie such as me.  It literally hand walks U thru it, till U can walk on U\'r own.

The Giga-Fighter mode, is fun.

Sorry for the lame review, but I\'ve only played it for about 2 hours.

This is probally the only game I\'ve purchased besides GTA3 that was WORTH $50.

This game is definitly worth the price of admission. Assuming of course you don\'t want a button masher. If this is your first virtua fighter then it is going to take some time and effort just to get halfway decent. It is nowhere near DOA3 graphics, but given the choice between the two I choose virtua fighter 4.

There are a ton of modes in this game. Kumite is the best by far. You play through it, and get items to customize your character. Very neat stuff.

I got it early today, and have been playing it ever since (for like 9 or 10 hours!)  Shun is the man!  I started using him because the old man in DOA2:HC was my favorite person to use, so I just hoped that this old man would be cool too.  I immediately noticed that Shun is a mixture between Lei Wulong and Yoshimitsu.  I have been playing as him almost exclusively all day (except when I was playing versus mode, I wanted to be fair so I chose people who I didn\'t know. :)), and IMO, am getting pretty good with him.  I still have about 1/5 of his move list to learn though, then it will be butt kicking time! :D

Got to play it a bit at work today (I bought it, but loaned my system out to a friend for another week longer :(  ).  Very very good, great interface with lots of options (I love the main menu layout.)  The training modes are great!  As many options as Soul Calibur\'s excellent one. (A BIG improvment over VF3tb\'s on DC).  Haven\'t tried Kumitu mode yet, but know it will be awesome.

One thing I REALLY wish they would have done is when you play in arcade mode RANDOMIZE THE FIGHTERS ORDER!  Just as in EVERY VF game (cant remember if 3 was like this but 1 and 2 were) you always seem to fight the guys in the EXACT same order....Lion is first, Lei Fei is second, Pai is 3rd....sigh....

Oh well, time to stop *****ing and go play VF2 on my saturn to practice up for when I get my system back.  Never could do Akira\'s SPoD on Saturn VF2 (could only get the G+P+K, B~d/F P+G to hit) and wouldn\'t you know it the first time I try it in VF4 I get it all (the added d,F+P) :)  I think the game likes me.  :D

Man when they say Akira is a player for Experts they are not joking one bit.  You have to be insanely fast to do some of this stuff.

Has anyone tried the "Recovery->Evade->Throw Escape Guard" in the Trial Practice mode?  GOOD GOD! :bounce:
