in fast and the furious....
« on: March 24, 2002, 01:37:33 AM »
in the fast in the furious, during the first race they show the asian guy playing a video game in his car, and it looks a hell of alot like GT3, the Trial Mountain course.  But if memory serves me right, Fast and the Furious came out in May 2001, and GT3 came out in around June, or at least summer.  Does anybody know for sure what the game he is playing is?

I know it\'s a stupid question, but it\'s been bothering me for a while.

It\'s been a while since I saw the movie... but as far as I remember it looked like PSX graphics? It was prolly GT or GT2. Besides, even if the movie came out relatively close to GT3, the actual scenes must have been shot much earlier.

Samwise is right, the graphics are clearly psx graphics and it looks to me to definitely be GT2, I\'d put money on it as GT2.

NO NO NO, you are ALL wrong, its GT1.

You wanna know why? Cause its the High Speed Ring track, which is only in GT1 (there was an edited version of this track in GT2, just like GT3).

I just went and checked the DVD.

but it was NOS..the brand anyway ;) gotta throw the sponsors name out there!

As for the topic..Yea, its a good movie from a entertainment aspect, but for a tech aspect it really sucked. Which is why I hated the movie..from an enthusiast stand point.

I really liked the movie, for a few reasons, number one the eye candy, those cars are just soo, mmmmmm.....  secondly I like Vin Diesel, and three it\'s a mindless action movie, which I always like.

BUT there is some poor acting, such as Ja Rule saying he\'s got enough NOS to blow HIMSELF up.  (he put the inflection on the word himself, which made it sound very bad)

then Paul Walker saying the phrase hell yeah, at inappropriate times, during the first race scene.

there are a couple other incidents, but if you like beautiful cars, great stunts, and mindless action, with a few unfortunate plot holes, this movie is great.
