Official Xbox sales in Europe...

Yes, according to Vandal, the number of XBOXs sold in Europe (whole Europe) since launch day till Friday 22th March is 101,000 consoles, 80% of them sold in the same day of launching.

Three major countries selling Xbox were Germany (about 15.000), United Kingdom (45.000) and France (13.000). Countries like Spain and Italy only sold about 3000 units each one (not a big surprise indeed). Ratio of games per system is of 1.7 (Halo is the best seller of XBOX).

Retailers expect M$ drop the price of the console after the disaster in Japan and the low number of units sold in Europe.

Very bad sales (15\'000 for Germany). Switzerland, which is a much smaller country than Germany had 17\'000 PS2 preorders back in November 2000. Those numbers are anything but impressive.

I don\'t think much of those XBox sales,  Who won the browser wars? Might have taken a couple of versions, but i\'d never count out M$ or Billy ...  With deep pockets, they can ride out the storm for a year or two. Besides, the way CPU/GPU technology is moving, in 2 years XBOX 2 will be ready with 500 million polygons

Absofreakinglutly ! Of course they will, do you think investing all that $$$$ only to come up short would discourage M$??? nope, no way, they see the living room as a market ready for the milking $$$$$$$$$   So unless they are not successful with XBOx 5 i would say ... Game on.

I heard rumors M$ is attempting at getting exclusive rights to Quake4.

I bet that holland sold less than 2000, most shops recieved their xboxes but ended up selling 1 or 2. I have even seen shops selling their stock for a loss to get rid of it

But remember since the price is so high, MS is losing next to nothing.  Nothing invested nothing lost.

Besides I paid $450 for my xbox and PS2 (each). $3000 for my tv.  $2000 for surround.  $300 for my dvd.
