I rented the Xbox version and loved it, I am not very good at this game though I can\'t even beat the first boss type character. keep getting my butt kicked. I will be buying it.
Xbox - live it......

That boss is easy if you take the time to figure it out... Hint.... Notice the mist in the second room.;)

I take back what I said about the framerate. The deeper I got into the game the worse it got.

But at no time does it make it unplayable, just a little distracting until things settle down.

There was one time I jumped into a window or whatever and the Matryx never loaded. I was stuck in a grey void with no objects of any kind. I could still run around and when I looked back I could see the World I left through the window I entered, like I just went into a mirror and I was looking back out of it. It was kinda cool and all I did was go back out of the window and come back in and everything was fine.

I think the fighting is getting a little stale (Chapter 6) but I can deal, because it\'s more of a stealth/puzzle game than all out action title. Which I actually prefer.

I\'ll probably finish this weekend and then never play it again.

Anyone find any secrets or anything like that?
Secret Areas?
Secret Weapons?
Etc.?

Later

Nah.. There can\'t be secret areas.. I searched everywhere I could possibly go in the game so far....

Secret weapons?! Ha! Once you get them.. You use it for a while.. Then you lose it either by exploding from damage or trying to save and restart..

Yeah, this game was alright, but, It just doesnt meet the standards of the whole legacy.... If you liked this game, you HAVE to, at least, rent Soul Reaver 2!  that game kicks ass, I like the story behind it all, and I like Raziel as the main Character better too!  Dont get me wrong.  Kain is on bad ass motha.... but, Raziel is more of the under dog... you gotta check it out.  Dont worry, lots of blood and head chopping (If thats what you want).  There is something to be said about being "Unstopable".

I would rent it first.  Decide from that point.  I would buy Soul Reaver agian if I didnt already have it ;).  I cant say anything bad about that game... Its cool too, cause once you beat the game, it opens up some extra features that show the people that do the voice overs for all the characters,(a couple movies to watch).. so, yeah, get soul reaver.... You wont be disapointed.

yeah, I liked the first soul reaver, but the second one is much better.. When I played the demo for soul reaver 2, I wasnt impressed.. You have to actually play the game to get the full effect.. Its funny, because when I bought the game, and I got the the part that was on the demo, I looked NOTHING alike.  the textures are awesome in soul reaver 2.. I was just playing it last night, and I got to a part where the floor is made to look like Marble... It looks awesome.  I love the game.  Also, In the demo, the movement to Raziel is kind of slow. They fixed that.  ;)  Check it out

well i enjoyed the first one, but thought the fighting got very samey and very easy!!! there were like no tactics, just go in and attack, and you would win..hope they improved it, cos that was my biggest complaint the fighting

fighting in Soul Reaver
« Reply #29 on: April 12, 2002, 06:39:25 AM »
The fighting in Soul reaver 2 is harder.. most of the attacks are comming from humans with swords and lances.  There are some friggin huge demons that will lay the smack down on you, and some even appear in the spiritual realm after kicking your ass in the material realm, so, you have to actually do some blocking, doging, and funning from guided missles (Magic bursts and stuff)
