Tom Green Returns
« on: March 27, 2002, 03:58:57 PM »
Tonight, at 10 p.m., Tom Green makes his awaited return to MTV in a show called "The Subway Monkey Hour" (Dont ask).  A think that the show is more of a "Tom Greens World Tour" due to the fact that he cant do anything in the US anymore without being recognized (this weeks episode is Japan) Personaly I love Tom and am eager to see how the show will be compared to Jackass now.  What are your opinion on the guy?

I liked his original stuff.  I don\'t know if I grew tired of him or if his stuff became less funny, but I will watch it tonight to see what he\'s doing now.  Although it looks like it\'s more of the same, just with japanese people.

Tom Green used to be funny, back in his MTV days, but now he just sucks.

well part of that is that now he cant pull of pranks without getting recognized, If i saw him on the street with a microphone and a couple of donkeys or something i would approach him and play along:D (but thats just me)

most people would just stand there with a smirk on their face waiting to see what he do or saying "whoa ur tom green man"

Actually he wasn\'t even funny with MTV.  His only tape that was funny was original stuff from his Canadian Public Access show.  He\'s just not that funny doing the same thing over and over again.

I watched the first two blocks, but that was it.  I have it recorded so I may check out more, but at least I can zip right through the crap.

He was funny for a while, but I just lost interest. Same thing that happens with most comedians and practical joke artists.

I knew from the beginning that Green\'s material had a very short lifespan.  His career is already over, he just doesn\'t know it yet.  He should have stayed married to Drew Barrymore if he wanted to keep getting any sort of work at all.

Well, he beats Jackass, considering that Jackass is not being made anymore.

You\'re absolutlely right. If he wants to survive, he\'ll need help...how about the crew from Jackass (minus Brad Pitt)?

Coredweller, you hit the nail on the head with that one. I think that MTV has way too many shows that need dissapear, such as Road Rules (my most hated), Real World(right up there), hell, just about everything related to boybands (Making the Band= BAD IDEA).
The fire still burns...
