It\'s a dreamcast port, the PS2 version sucks, tons of slow-down and choppy scenes b/c it didn\'t port over well.

never played it, it was praised because it its amazing graphics (at the time for DC) But IMO skies of Arcadia looks more interesting

Speaking on the DC version...

It\'s a great RPG, it has a good story with some twist, millenia (reason enough), and an excellent battle system.

If you have 50$ just laying around, either mail it to me or spend it on Grandia II.

Speaking of Skies of Arcadia, anyone know if the PS2 version will have extras, enhanced graphics maybe?  I\'ll be getting it anyway, I\'ve been looking for a reason to go through it again...

I\'d rather get the DC version.  To re-iterate:

----------------------------------------
(From Gamespot review)
----------------------------------------

There\'s little doubt that Grandia II shows its age in the PlayStation 2 version--you can tell it\'s a direct translation of an older game. But the game itself actually holds up quite well, and it\'s well suited for those who haven\'t let Final Fantasy X raise their standards too high.

Grandia II may not look like much from a technical standpoint--disappointingly, the game actually looks a bit worse than the original Dreamcast version--but its visual design is well done.

The original Dreamcast version of Grandia II was released more than a year ago, and it\'s technically superior to the PlayStation 2 port. But the underlying game is the same. . .

You was warned about the crappy graphics on the PS2 version. As for the DC version, it was a great RPG (and I dislike RPG\'s for the most part). Your best bet is grab a DC and a copy of the game, to play the game it was meant to be.
