I just picked up WRC this week (free compliments of my TRU Geoffery Dollars once again...God, I love those things!). Got a chance to play it this evening. I thought it kicked @ss, personally. Love the many views it offers -- personal fav is behind the wheel. And the aerial replays are schwaeeeet.
Controls, at least behind the wheel, are spot-on in my book. The Spain courses are more than adequately long enough for me. Only thing I have to "get used to" (and this is just a "true WRC sport" trait) is that there are no competitive cars on the track with me. Just me and checkpoints.
Did notice in the physics exhibited in "flips" during some rather "oops, I didn\'t see that turn coming" replays were a little off. But overall, the physics seemed tight. Run off the course & up a hill while travelling forward & the car does a respectable job hanging on until its just too late and it has to roll. I didn\'t perceive the "floaty" nature...but then again, I didn\'t play from a behind the car POV -- I\'ve *always* felt that POV gives me that sense of "floating".
As others have mentioned, I too thought the environments left nothing to complain about. And there is a nice stretch of cars to choose from as well. Ain\'t seen \'em all...but the jacket indicates 81 tracks! Nothing to complain about there!!! From the tracks and portions I\'ve played thus far, they are each very different from one another. There only consistency I\'ve found thus far is that none of them offer many chances to let the car run in a straight line for very long

And that\'s just fine by me!!!
Good game. For me, glad I didn\'t wait for CM3. Then again, my copy was free...
