Been out of the loop.  Whats hot and whats not.  Because in the past I have gotten some pretty crappy RPGs.

I havel Final Fantasy X so don\'t recommend that.  But what else is out thats a must have right now..  Gonna have a lot of time on my hands soon so I need something to entertain.

Summoner !

its Got a Rock Solid Story

Countless side quests

a Vast world to explore

Ransom battles only on the World map

nice Ability and skills systems

and a Weapon and Spell list thats second to none !

the only down side is the rather ropey Graphics but heck the Gameplay is there !

Also you can get it cheap as i think it was an American launch title !

*edit*

plus is one long sucker !

Kirath:  Are you waiting to start a new job, or still looking?  If that\'s what it is, then I know where you\'re coming from!  A good game collection is an absolute necessity while job hunting!  Good luck.  :)

Dark Cloud and Okage: Shadow King are so-so. Next on the radar is Kingdom Hearts, Wild Arms 3, Suikoden 3, and Xenosaga.

Don\'t get Shadow Hearts if you just finished FFX, it\'s just not good enough to even hold itself up after FFX.

If you don\'t have Dark Cloud. . . get it NOW!!!!!

This I am gonna pick up dark cloud.  Or maybe even a couple - Baldaurds gate as well..

I need something to hold me over for awhile.

Coredweller: I found a job, same company, just gotta relocate from Boston to Philly.  Thats why I need some RPGs  Cause I am gonna be in my new apartment, with nothing but and air matters, microwave, pan, cup, Ps2 -  for 3 1/2 weeks, till I come back up to get my stuff, like my GF and my TV and bed.  So its gonna be a little rough for awhile.

Don\'t get Okage. I just rented it, and it\'s awful. Slow plot, ugly character designs, and the battle system is way too stupid. Dark Cloud is fun, though. It was the first PS2 game I ever played; bought it the same afternoon I bought my PS2, and still play it every now and then.:D

Just got my hands on Skies of Arcadia for my DC... so far it\'s awesome!  If you have a DC, I\'d reccomend you find a copy of this soon!

However, if your feeling more adventurous, I suggest you go and get, especially if you never played em before (retro games here, buy the carts, then just run emulators to play em on your comp):

Phantasy Star II-IV
Final Fantasy  IV V VI (also available with PSone Tactics game)

Final Fantasy 7 - my personal favorite, the best story and system out there in my opinion.

Xenogears - the 2nd best story i can find.  you gotta be a genius to figure this one out the first time you play

If you havent played it yet,
I must reccoment

Persona 2

It is a very unique game.. especially if you never played P1
Even though its a PSX game, its worth playing.. it may be hard to find, I belive amazon has it in stock

What about the new King\'s field??  I have always been a big fan of these games, and this is another great one.  It\'s more of a zelda-like rpg where you can actually fight the monsters.
