What? Provoke a war with Iraq and risk facing their ultimate doomsday weapon... the SCUD MISSLE!!!! The only weapon of mass destruction which can be fired out of the trunk of a Winnebago. Yeah, I\'m scared. So what if Saddam\'s get\'s -real- nukes. You know we\'re gonna take em away from him, and then dispose of his pesky ass. The "threat" of a nuke would be just cause in itself... as if we don\'t have enough already.
There will be no WWIII. IF it does come down to using Nukes, and real ones, then how many aren\'t in the hands of friendly countries? Well lets see, Iraq may have 10.. Pakistan\'s got 500.. India\'s got roughly the same or a bit more.. who else? And how many of those missles are actually ICBM\'s? The "Allies" far out strip them. The US has 50,000 or more.. 30,000 or more in Russia.. a compairable number in both China and Britian (England is a Nuclear power right?)
Granted, China isn\'t on our side ~per sey~, but they sure as hell aren\'t on Iraq\'s side. For every one of their Nukes pointed away from us, it might as well be another one pointed at the Mid East. Then again, India and Pakistan aren\'t exactly friendly with each other either. An alliance between them and Pakistan is highly unlikely, so you could probably count them out. If Pakistan blows it\'s wad trying to take out the "Great White Devil" then that\'ll give India a massive upperhand. Those two countries are in an arms race of their own.. and I doubt either country would leave itself vulnerable to attack from the other.
I just don\'t see a nuclear war happening anytime soon. There\'s too much to risk, and too much tension between countries over there. What will most likely happen is an all out -non nuclear- war between a few of the countries over there and the increased threat of suicide bombings in the US and other US Allies. Not to say we shouldn\'t tread carefully.. this situation could have drastic outcomes.. but not THAT drastic.
