K, i dont know how many of you have been aware of this freeware program, but i have been missing out.

Its basically a program that converts all of your instant messengers into one. MSN, ICQ, AIM, YAHOO IM, and IRC are all converted.  This was great for me because i use all of them because all my friends dont use the same ones.

It imports all of your contact and buddy lists into its sleek interface(i like it the most out of all the other interfaces, it has a WinXP fell to it).  Then it allows you to view all of your contacts on one contact list yet it keeps all of the separate options for each different messenger software.  I love it.

Heres the link

This image is trying to show its transperancy feature.....doesnt do it to much justice tho...

*edit*- Ok, i guess you have to click the links with this host...or did i do something wrong?....... if not, can anyone suggest a better host?

I used Trillian a while ago.  There were some features I liked, such as the ability to sign onto all those chatting services at once, the expanded icons, and the way it automatically logs your conversations.  I still mainly don\'t use it though, just because everyone I talk to is on AIM, and I\'m used to that interface.

I\'m using Trillian right now.  It\'s pretty good.  Main thing is, it\'s still beta; it\'s on version 0.75.  Some of the features (like check mail), don\'t work.  It doesn\'t give you alerts (might do a sound, dunno) when you get mail, for example, unless you\'re looking at your buddy list.  Ya can\'t set it to minimize your windows when you\'re away, and the message window bar thingies in the staus bar (what the hell are they called?) don\'t flash blue (or any color) when someone sends a message.  It doesn\'t do the fonts or colors of MSN or AIM, either.  You can choose the font (and maybe color, don\'t feel like checking) for your messages, but it show the entire window in that font, including messages from the other person(s).  I really hope hey get that **** handled.  Other than that, I like it.

3rd Edit: ICQ never really worked for me, as well.  People (actually, I might have only tried it with one person, but it\'s all or none as far as I\'m concerned) said they could read my messages, but there\'s showed up as gibberish.  Someone said that regular ICQ does that sometimes, too, though, so I dunno.

I used it, but then I decided to quit using everything but msn so there was no need to use that program anymore.

you can set sounds for events, just check your prefferences for trillian, and for that particular messenger.  And when i am not looking at my buddy list, the message just pops up in a new window for me:). many of the problems you listed there can be changed in the prefferences

No, no they can\'t.  I\'ve been throught the preferences.  You just didn\'t read my post carefully enough.  I don\'t care about the sounds; my speaker\'s usually off.  Yes, the messages pop up in front of me.  It\'s actually very annoying, as I\'d prefer they didn\'t when I\'m away, like AIM (and MSN never popped them up anyway, just those little alert things that refused to go way in a timely manner).  I was talking about mail alerts, I never know until I go to the buddy list.
I\'ll think of a sig later.
