Silent Hill movie news a hoax

Oh you have got to be kidding me. This makes me despise the internet.
http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=121&mode=thread&order=0

"Unfortunately, we are being informed by VERY reliable sources that there is no deal with New Line and Konami about a Silent Hill movie and that no one has heard of Dark Aura Entertainment.

Now that it seems more likely than not, that Dark Aura is not for real, we have chosen to take down the interview until something more solid appears, until then we shall join the rest in being skeptical."

The State of Emergency movie news has been announced a long time ago (way before April Fools in case anyone is wondering). I heard that some company bought the rights to make a movie based on SOE a while a go (could come up with a link if you want to, but, like a lot of old news, pain in the butt to look for). Now, MGS and Silent Hill, these have been announced relatively close to April Fools so these may not be real.

Still open minded, but if it was an April Fools Joke, have to admit, I pretty much feel for it.
Opinions are not important.

why wouldn\'t someone make a GTA movie, why SOE?  i mean GTA is movie worthy, got a main character, gangs, guns, cars, what more do you need?

Well, I heard that there is a plan for a GTA3 movie (from http://www.cinescape.com which didn\'t say which studio and so forth would be making it. Just a general overview of the games to movies that are planned [which...yes, even in their list, which you have to find. Sorry, to lazy for a direct link] Silent Hill is on it).

For the record, State of Emergency was confirmed as a movie a week after the game\'s release. TeamXbox and a lot of other gaming sites confirmed the information.

Craxy Taxi is also in production with Richard Donner (of Superman and Lethal Weapon fame) is directing the movie.

Personally I doubt the State of Emergency movie is going to happen, regardless of whether the original announcement was real or not. I think producers were banking on SOE becoming the next GTA 3, and hence achieveing some kind of fame as a franchise, so they were hoping to cash in on the name. But seeing how mediocre the title turned out to be I\'d expect the studios to be backing out.

Well, I will say that State of Emergency obviously did not achieve the same status as Grand Theft Auto 3. However, even so, it did somewhat well (sales wise at least. While obviously no where near the phenominal sales of GTA3, I believe many devlopers would still be jeolous of the sales SOE recieved), and it is still a controversal game that could be the talk of the town in the movie business.

That  being said, it is also true (like many franchises, whehter it be comics, books, or games) that a lot of game to movies that are confirmed to be planned, fall through in the end. Remember Doom? That franchise moved through many scripts and a few studios which in the end, resulted in nothing. So, just because there are plans for a movie, doesn\'t mean it will pull though.

A State of Emergency movie sounds so stupid.. Simply because those pedestrian\'s would be outta the building in 10 mins.. Not a couple of hours..:D

Well I dunno.. I\'d still give it a shot.
