Spring is a rather dull time of year for gamers...these numbers aren\'t suprising what with the lack of games available.

Except GBA, that thing took off and hasn\'t landed yet...

Yeah seems Nintendo can just survive off Pokemon and their gameboys now.

Yea, that or those extra 32,000 Gamecubes that it sold.

Pokemon\'s value has dropped dramatically for the time being.  (I\'m conservative with that statement because I\'m sure another well-timed Pokemon attack can bring them back, but who knows with how fickle kids are.)

It\'s interesting to see how much better Microsoft is doing here than in Japan, etc.  But the PS2 trend is still solid.  While Nintendo might make a run for it with this year\'s releases, I\'d say GTA3 is PS2\'s driving force right now.  It\'s all about the games and GTA is good.  (Not to mention being advertised on tv every six seconds.)

Anyone know specifically if GTA3 has been consistently out-performed (sales-wise) by any one game lately?  Maybe the new Virtua Fighter game, I guess, huh?

yea i gotta agree with eik on this one

nintendo has the games coming this fall so be ready for those numbers to rise

xbox has a few up its sleeves so expect some of the same

thing is with a price drop in the future for PS2 - how will that effect its sales

ahhh sooo many possibilites

Hehe, as long as the 5 Nintendo-brand GameCube games I pre-ordered live up to my expectations.. I don\'t give a damn how much the system sells! It seems that Xbox games like Rallisport and Gun Valkyrie aren\'t helping sales..

Yeah, VF4 has been in first place ever since it was released, and GTA3 is in second.  I wouldn\'t be surprised if GTA3 went back to first within the next month though.

65000 in US, 80000 in Japan= 145 000
145 000+ 25 000 (EU)= 170 000
170 000 in EU,US and JPN
that gives 8,84 000 000 /year

GO, DREAMCAST, GO!!!

When a dead system is outselling a new one....HOO BOY!!!
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
