CBS Marketwatch reports that Nintendo not only made a profit (as always) this past fiscal year, but also beat their estimates. It also confirms that Nintendo lost 3000 yen per GameCube in the fiscal year.. that\'s roughly $25-35 for Americans. It\'s good to hear that Nintendo turned a major profit even despite lower than expected GBA sales and also while losing $30 per console on GCN. It goes to show you that Nintendo isn\'t going anywhere.

Good, now hopefully my damn Nintendo stock will start going up for a change.  I watched it peak and didn\'t sell.  If Mario or Zelda doesn\'t push it back up there I\'m gonna be mad at myself.

But yea, Nintendo always makes money.  (Not unlike Sony and Microsoft, btw. )

Exactly, not going anywhere.  They need to have the squaresoft thing. . . you know, be almost broke, rock bottom, then come out with the greatest game in history as a last resort.  (a.k.a. Final Fantasy)

Nintendo is "comfortable,"  it needs some fire in it\'s belly!

I just don\'t see how Nintendo could be so happy with selling 1.29million consoles in 5months. When there competition sold a million in the day. I just don\'t understand how they could be content with never trying to be the number one console maker ever again. It\'s just pathetic!!!!!

Coming off of the pathetic retail performance of N64 in Japan, and launching with 3 games (none of them "killer apps") I think that the GameCube has done well.

When the big games appear, sales boost.. and 90% of Nintendo\'s big franchises haven\'t been drawn.
