Silent Hill 2 being ported from xbox to ps2

The Xbox version Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams is ported to the PlayStation 2 in Japan.
 
Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo has announced it will release its survival horror game Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams for the PlayStation 2 in Japan. The game will be a port of the Xbox version, which includes an added scenario called Born from a Wish that lets players assume the role of a character named Maria.
Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams for the PlayStation 2 is scheduled for a July 4 release in Japan.

I dunno, I read this post, and kinda chuckled to myself for some reason.  But I did want to play this game, and since I wasn\'t exactly planning on buying the xbox, I pretty much had given up on that thought.  So much for exclusive games these days.

Damn... A port of a port?  This reminds me a lot of DoA2.

Oh well, I guess it\'s good news to those who never picked up the original.

Think it will make it to US/Eu?

Ok, I admit it, I\'m an idiot.  I didn\'t realize that Silent Hill 2 had originally been released on PS2, was ported over the xbox, and now is being ported back..

well ive already got sh2, not gonna pay out another £40 to play tis other mode....a port of a port.....why dont they just make a add on disc, that cost a £5 if u show them you ahve already got sh2, but if you buy sh2 it comes free with it!!

Silent Hill 2 is simply put incredible!

It really is an amazing game, one of the best on the PS2.

So its good news that PS2 owners will now see the extra sernario its just I can\'t see many owners of the original game getting it. I hear the extra game can be completed in around 20 minutes and just explains how Maria came about in the game.

Well, i didnt get SH2, might wait for this new one before i pick up a copy

Holy crap... Yeah.. And also PS1 is outselling Xbox! I can\'t believe PS2 is doing this good.. I like it!:D
