Simcity 4 is coming along! For the PC.

I\'m a huge fan of Simcity (And sim series games in case anyone hasn\'t noticed. :p), however, the first time I saw these screenshots I was dissappointed. Looked too much like SC3000 (which isn\'t a bad thing entirely, but for a sequel, you do expect it to be better or at least different graphics). At first, the only thing I though was new was the fact that the buildings now fact the street (which is a good thing. But not enough for me to buy this game). However, when I went to find more screenshots, my faith in this game being a true sequel has been semi-restored.

Screenshots could be found here at this fansite. I know there are some at the previous link, but this site has more screenshots of the game.

From what I have heard and seen, the differences between SC4 with the previous game, SC3000 are as followed; buildings will age over time if they are abandoned (and not change into an abandoned tile set) due to changing demographics, control of traffic lights, more disasters, buildings will ALL face the road, the buildings appear to have lots to build on now (if you look in the San Franciscoish screenshot, you will notice that the green shaded area [which I assume is the area zoned for residential] it the seperation lines look like lots rather then blocks]), the buildings have shadows corresponding with the building and NOT some block that is supposed to be the shadow, we have fog, volcanos, disasters can now be controlled (I\'m assuming the ones you start), we can now build on slopes :) though it appears that they simply have some flattened foundation on a slope instead of acutually building on a slope (ala Simgolf), and since the buildings have signs on or off, implies a sign ordinance.

Obviously, overtime there are probably more then these differences. If I have any more info, I\'ll keep anyone here who is interested posted. :)

I haven\'t owned a sim city game. . . ever, but I have always enjoyed playing at friends houses.  I might just get this one, as long as no other k.a. PS2 game comes out at the same time.

Good good. I really like \'sim\' type games, I hope it improves on what is shown though.

they are alright....

I have the Sims and the hot date expansion. Its really funny. But can be a genuine pain in the ass with all the work you have to control through your sim\'s life.

It wasn\'t.

I asumed that this thread is fine in the main forum even though it is about a PC game (it isn\'t Console Debate. Not flame bait [which don\'t belong in this forum period] Might be off-topic but it is game related). If this thread needs to be moved mods, go ahead.

/me hugs Simchoy.

I love SimCity you have made my day. I just thought it was coming out for PS2 though. My PC won\'t be powerful enough to run it. It barely runs SC3000. Hopefully they will port it to the PS2.
