I\'m the biggest Tua fan this side of the Pacific and Atlantic.

My goodness....I was hoping against hope that Tua would land a staggering blow and he did. Once that was done, the axe like punhes of David Tua went into full throttle and Oquendo was so dazed, he could barely find the rope to lean on. :D

I wish Tua would just put his head down and start chopping those ribs and not end up chasing his opponents and winging a prayer! And he throws almost NO uppercuts! Damn! He could have beaten Lennox. He had him in the third but didn\'t throw enough! D\'oh!

Anyway, I\'m glad he clobbered Oquendo. He was showboating and smiling and that pissed me off. I\'m so glad Tua put that smile out with that right hook! :D

I\'m glad Tua won also, but he seriously needs to get into better shape for these big fights. He needs to shed some weight and get back down to about 225 where he is much more effective. I was yelling at the TV the whole fight for Tua to throw punches, but he basically just followed Oquendo around the ring all night. He sure was lucky to land big in the ninth and get the showboater Oquendo out of there. Oquendo was on his way to an easy decision win.

If Tua can get back to 225 I\'d give him a shot against most anyone. He still has huge disadvantages in reach and height though. But I like the guy.

I\'d like to see him in there against Tyson. He wont have to chase Tyson all night, Tyson will be right in front of him and I think Tua\'s granite chin would hold up against Tyson\'s power. Id pay to see it and would even pick Tua by upset.

David Tua is a nice guy, I\'ve heard. He respects his opponents before and after the fight. Win or lose.

This guy could break your ribs with one punch but he wouldn\'t hurt anyone outside of the ring.

Granite chin?I thought he was K.O.\'d before?I\'ve seen a few Tua fights and the guy has great power especially in his hooks...but like most heavyweights nowadays...lacks good footwork and the discipline to use jabs,uppercuts,and body blows inbetween knockout opportunities.

no he was not K.O.\'d.  He hasent even ben knocked down before.

and he is to small to even worry about jabbs.  He\'s 5 9 and cant use them unless he fights some one like mike tyson.

Not true. Coz Ettiene beat the living daylights out of Chris Byrd and he fights like Tua. When Tua fought Byrd, Tua was heavier and got tired out too quickly. If he was in his 220\'s, Tua would have smacked Byrd around. Stamina is just as important as offense and defense.

You people dont know anything about boxing do you?

First off, Tua has never been knocked out or knocked down.

Second, Chris Byrd already beat Tua by decision, but Byrd is not a champion, he has no belts. Lennox Lewis is the WBC, IBF champion. John Ruiz is the WBA champion, and Wladamir Klitchsko is the WBO champion.

Third, Clifford Etienne never even fought Chris Byrd and if he did then Byrd would easily outpoint him. Byrd has fought Wladamir Klitschsko however, and Klitschsko whupped him easily. Byrd is currently the IBF number one contender so he will probably be fighting Lennox Lewis soon if Lewis gets past Tyson.

Tua has lost decisions to Ike Ibeuchi(sp), Lennox Lewis, and Chris Byrd.

Chris Byrd has the best defense ever? I take it you have never seen Pernell Whitaker fight?
