Everything else is from third party...if it weren\'t on PS2 it would be somewhere else.

Giving away two free games and a controller is a very nice way of saying "we fukked up"...and it could lead to a much needed recovery.

PS2 launched March 2000 in Japan...I\'m not sure when Dark Cloud came out, I believe that summer.  But TMB, GT3, and ICO came out after the year mark...

Expect more from a brand new company to the market that\'s earning (buying, whatever) it\'s developers and establishing itself?

Refuse?  I\'m not disappointed yet...I\'m not blown away either.  

Currently I\'m not blown away or satisfied with PS2, Xbox, or GC.  There is still a bit of life left in each of them, so I\'m not going to blantantly ***** about them in the manner you do...

there\'s alot of life left in all of them
actually, the PS2 has roughly two years less life then the others as PS3 is next

but we can agree on one thing
im not satisfied on any of my 3 either

I actually believe PS2 can/will hold its\' own for however long the competition chooses to stand ground.

Although I think it would be wise for Sony to come out a little ahead of the competition as to firmly plant one foot in the ground...

sony completely owns and dominates the console market

lets say PS3, xbox2 and GC2 do happen to launch at the same time

Due to the fact that its\' competition was a dying console.  It had a two year window, that and a humongous hype train fueled it to were it is today and will most likely keep it ahead.

Then it would depend soley on the software available.  Why would you buy X console with no appealing games when Y console has a great lineup?

All three companies will have brand recognition/appeal and that will also play a big part.  I don\'t know what any of the companies have planned in the next 3-4 years that could affect the opinions of millions.

what hype machine for PS2?

they had a proven track record with the PS1
they were a company with NO gaming experience and took control

nintendo had it with the SNES, but pissed it away with the lame N64

m$ has the PC market mentality which will keep them in 3rd place this generation
