Anyone picked up Spider-Man yet?
« on: April 22, 2002, 12:20:36 PM »
I completely forgot this game was coming out until I saw it in the store yesterday...anyone in here got it yet?  If so, post your impressions please...IGN gave it a good review, but I\'d rather hear from some of you guys.

I bought it Friday evening and played it over the weekend..I\'ll post a full review tomorrow sometime.  Just too busy at work here today to get it done.  This will also give me another night to complete more of the game and get more impressions.  I can give you a very brief impression so far.  I\'m about 15 missions into the game so far and I would currently give it 8/10...

Yes indeedy. There is a review of it up in the "Console Debating" section, written by none other than...ME!

Personally, I think the game is a boring , tedious and annoying three hour jounrey. All the while you get Toby Mcguire\'s stale voice attacking and bad camera\'s ....err..Just go read the review. It isn\'t all good.

The only plus side is how short it is.  The game is lame and the camera angles are terrible.

Really?  This game is seriously this bad?  I went and read Living-in-Clip\'s review thread of it, and his news wasn\'t good...but most of that thread was just people who hadn\'t played it yet reacting to his view of it.  Now there has been more time, so I want more people\'s opinions on how good or bad it is...

LIC, what difficulty did you play it on?  IGN says over 10 hours of gameplay, you say 3...were you on some sort of "very easy" level, or were they just wrong?  Did you cut out play time by skipping movies or something?  Please shed some light on this.

Is the camera really as bad as some people say?  Most 3-D games have minor camera problems, it\'s just whether or not you can overlook it.  The camera for Maximo sucked sometimes, but you get over that pretty easily.

Anyway, who else has an opinion on this game?  And those who\'ve already posted yours here, please elaborate a little.  Thanks.

IGN was just plain wrong, everybody I know that has beat it beat it in under 5 hours.  Some closer to 3 like L-I-C said.

It\'s not as bad as everyone thinks, but it\'s certainly not a classic. I\'ve been playing through the PS2 version, and it\'s pretty good. It has some replay value, because you can play a special game as the 2nd Green Goblin, Harry Osborn.

You can also unlock secrets and stuff by performing well on levels. So if you wish, you can go back and replay a level in hopes of doing better. The city skyline is amazing, and looks like the real thing.

The battles with Vulture and Green Goblin are especially entertaining. if you are a big SM fan, then try renting it.

;)
The fire still burns...
