Resident Evil - The Movie - Impressions.
« on: April 25, 2002, 01:32:01 AM »
Yes, Resident Evil was FINALLY released in Australia today (don\'t ask me why it took so friggen long to get here).

I went in there with pretty low expectations, thinking that if it would be somewhere along the lines of Tomb Raider. I was pleasently surprised. The opening sequence was very impressive, especially with the elevator sequence.

The plot was great, so was script (for a videogame movie anyway) and I thought that both leading ladies gave great performances. Matt (Eric someone) was also very good.

The zombies were very good, and the sequence just before the Queen Ant with the laser thingo was very impressive.

I also liked the way the movie didn\'t finish when they got outta the mansion. It was good to lead it on, to show what had happened, and hopefully continue on with a sequel.

The only gripe I had was the licker/hunter. It looked really fake. Milla Jovovich was very good, and I liked the way it explained the whole Umbrella thing (even though I finished all the games, it answered alot of questions).

For a videogame movie, or for that matter a movie itself, it was very good.

I think you guys are over shooting your expectations on this thing..

its a Videogame movie...its destined to be bad.

but in RE\'s case its easily the most enjoyable and well done videogame movie to date.

you should be happy that maybe there starting to actually make these movies a teensy bit better now and more thought.

Who said that the gas in the mansion was connected to the underground lab? The gas could\'ve been released by a electronic signal from the underground lab to a computer in the mansion to release the gas seperate from the lab you know. Gas doesn\'t need to have all originated at the underground lab you know.

Now, I\'m not going to say that the story was great (much less the movie) by any means, but I still found it to be an enjoyable movie.
Opinions are not important.
