Primal

Primal lies in a dark, fantastical realm between the mortal world and the afterlife, where an eternal struggle between order and chaos rages.  Abaddon (Chaos) has tired of his personal conflict with Arella (Order) and is breaking the rules.  The natural order of Primal has been disrupted and the demons of the dark side are gaining in strength and power and upsetting the natural equilibrium.

Join Jennifer Tate, a modern girl, as she is pulled into the turbulent world of Primal.  She must face the demons of an immortal realm and discover her own supernatural origin.  A terrifying metamorphosis takes place as Jen begins to unlock her latent demon abilities

Aiding Jen in her quest to pull the forces of order back from the brink of disaster is Scree, a noble and proud living gargoyle. Players can switch between Jen and Scree throughout the game.

Primal consists of four diverse realms, inhabited by distinct demonic races, each one inextricably connected to the others.  The first kingdom Jen and Scree encounter is Solum, home to the Ferai, a rugged, primitive race of hunters.  Aligned with the element of Earth, the Ferai culture centres on the natural laws of their environment.

Designed to effectively utilise PlayStation 2s hardware architecture for optimal results, Primal features state-of-the-art motion capture animation, advanced AI and integrated cut scenes. Dynamic loading and detail management methods are used to present environments of exceptional size, beauty and complexity with no load delays.

SCEE Studio Cambridge have created a compelling and original storyline, a dark and violent fantasy for a mature audience, commented Chris Deering, President, SCEE.   He continued They have managed to achieve a level of detail, graphical richness and depth of gameplay that few games will be able to match.

OUR TAKE: From the early material that we\'ve seen on Primal, this game could well become a franchise rivalled only by Tomb Raider. The characters and storyline are so enveloping and engaging that you\'d be mistaken for thinking you were playing out some fantastical Dungeons and Dragons epic rather than playing a videogame. All we\'ve seen on this thus far though has been rolling footage of gameplay and the character models and Primal has quickly become the talk of our little office. We\'ll have far more info on this exciting game as it comes to hand.

Arent those screens over 1 year old?
They were released at E3 last year if I remember correctly..
I think Sony is doing a ICO on this..

Remember they showed Ico the first time at E3 2000. Then it took a year and on E3 2001 it blowed everyone away.

The game looks/sounds very interesting.. Im looking forward to see it at E3.

I disagree with that. The first time I saw that short E3 2000 ICO video I was blown away by it and I remember thinking to myself why on earth not anyone else was excited about it. It had pretty much the same graphics that it had on actual release.

Ok then. I\'m in it! w00t w00t
A friend of mine works for SCEE and is the modeller/texture artist (I think) for this game, and he said he\'s gonna put my name, along with all the other peoples in our groups ([CSR]) name\'s it in as well! He said they\'d be on a wall in a New York level, like grafitti.
