Resident Evil Remake for Gamecube.
« on: April 29, 2002, 06:04:50 AM »
I\'m anxiuosly awaiting the 128bit remake of the pioneering genre, Resident Evil, to be released this Wednesday (probably Thursday since shipping takes another day to get to the East coast).

This game scared the bejeebers outta me back in April 1996 when that crazy dog burst through the window and attacked poor Jill. It scared me so much I unknowingly yanked the controller out of the PSX and I frantically tried to control Jill to kill the dog. But she stood there like a zombie and had her throat ripped out. :(

Now....it\'s in mega pixel form...better sounds....movements are close to motion capture....and who knows what the voice acting will be like. :)

Me excited. Me rikey Gamecube mo and mo. Pikmin I rike. Me rikey Lesident Evil too! :D

Actually, the PC game Alone in the Dark and subsequent sequels (barring the recent AITD4) pioneered the survival-horror genre. Resident Evil simply made survival-horror more realistic, scarier, and all-in-all mainstream.

I think Resident Evil 1 was awesome, though.. the best in the RE series; I\'m eagerly anticipating Rebirth.

Only 2 more days!

I was aware of Alone in the Dark....but that was for the PC. It wasn\'t until later it went to PSX. :D

Gman, that little story about being helpless while Jill had her throat ripped out was precious  though I bet you didn\'t think it was very funny at the time.

We should expect a report from you on the GC version in a few days.  Right?

Heh! My girlfriend screamed when that happened and was sooo pissed off at me! She said, "Why didn\'t you run! Why\'d didn\'t you shoot the dog?!"

This game made me feel responsible for Jill\'s life...and death. :D

wow, sounds awesome. You just brought back some really nice memories. Resident Evil 1 was really the best.. the atmosphere.. just all matched up. Part 2 was good too, although the atmosphere wasn\'t anywhere near part 1 (well, some nice shocking parts in plot b). If I ever had a GCN, I\'d definately get this one... oh well, maybe Capcom might port it over one day..

BTW: Just read through your other reply. Just reminded me of that one time when I was playing at my friends place. We had just gotten Resident Evil 2 at the time and were already playing through plot b with the tyrant always showing up and hunting you down. We had it all hooked up to the Hifi and as I was playing, he was playing with the remote turning the volume up and down... well, it was damned to happen and just in that moment when the volume was at its highest, some licker burst through the cealing resulting me in also loosing the Dualshock. LOL, almost killed all of us it was so loud. The controller was somewhere in the dark and seconds later Leon had his throat ripped out aswell... Classic moment...

so?  its only ten bucks..

least you didnt buy the game in full

and i loved the doors opening in the original.. was creepy as **** and you were OOHHHHH so relieved to here the storage box room music hit

the original is such a great game.. such a shame they have gotten worse with each incarnation.. although i rate 2 and 3 the same..
