List of games that support 5.1/surround sound

Hi All,

I just want to know how many PS2 games supports 5.1/surround /DTS/Dobly Digital sound effects coz I\'ve bought a receiver and 5.1 surround speakers..

So far these are the only games I know of that support 5.1 sound:

MGS2 - 5.1 Dobly Digital during cutscenes. The sound track are great! It\'s actually much sharper and crisper than most DVD movies that has a DD sound track. Too bad the intro FMV doesn\'t support DD though.

SSX Tricky - This is possibly the only game in the world currently that support DTS!!!(as far as I know) Whooah! The music is very well mixed for the 5.1 effect but the real-time sound effects are okay only. Not too shabby for a first time DTS support and the developers should be applaud for it, after all not even all movies has DTS sound track!(DTS is way much better than DD).

SOE - The only option here are set to \'Surround\' - my receiver does not detect Dobly Digital nor DTS and only use the normal Dobly Pro-logic decoding which gives some pseudo-suround sound. Still, I can here the gun shot coming from the rear effects speaker accurately but it seems too mechanical and there is no panning of the effects. Sorta like cheap surround effect.

Anyone want to add to the list?? Drop it here!

Wipeout Fusion has something like DD 4.0. Might be only the intro though..

FFX?  I know FFX-International is, but not sure about the US FFX.

The recently released EA games have them. As early as December, I think those games from EA has that feature.

NHL 2002.
The Bouncer uses DD 5.1 in the FMVs.

I think I heard that MoH: Frontline will support DTS.

So far the DD used in games is a bit crap. Its only used in cut scenes or intros, when are we gonna see the first game to use it all the way through. By the way, playing MGS2 I had DD set to on in the game and I was only playing it through tv speakers, caused me not to get any sound on the ending credits!

Hmm... if I had one big complaint about PS2.. the lack of DD in games would be it.

Only becuase during the PS2 launch craze i spent $900 on a new home theater.  Thinking of caurse more games would support it... boy was I bummed when I played Silent HIll 2 without any real surround.


hmm... haven\'t posted in a while, I really need to reply more often.  I have been on this board since feb 2000, and still haven\'t earned a picture.

the FFX US version does not have DD....as far as I know...I havent tried the Movie spheres yet........
