I suppose you\'re right... But when he can eat money for lunch and build a house made out of money papers for his dog, you can never be sure... But I think you\'re right.

True, however it can be disabled go to Tools and uncheck the Allow internet sites to uniquely identify your player.

Let\'s put it this way.  There have to be millions of computers running windows.  How are they going to watch millions of computers?  Not even the all mighty Bill Gates could pull that off.  If anything it\'s just probably what nO-One said, they are taking statistics from your computer use.

I think we just have to accept that \'big brother\' is here and here to stay. But that doesn\'t mean we should all be so paranoid about our activities being watched with every keystroke or mouseclick we make. The reason for it in the first place is for tracking down internet crime and such more effectively. It\'s already proving successful in various countries aorund the world. Some of the most notorious criminals have been pinned down with sickening efficiancy because of \'big brother\'.

That\'s just an example of something that we know about.  And how long have they been doing this only to give us the opt-out option now?

spyware is everywhere. A lot of people have spyware on their pc now, from Kazaa to windows media player in xp. If your that bothered, theres always thing you can do to prvent it.

Microsoft do have a log of pretty much every internet site you\'ve ever been on, which is stored on every persons computer and can only be accessed from MS-DOS. Clearing the history/temporary internet files does nothing to affect this log. This log isn\'t transmitted back to MS, as far as I\'m aware, but I suppose could be used to track computer crime, check for kiddie porn etc. Still, it is an invasion of privacy, and the feature can\'t be turned off (although the files can be deleted)

Wouldn\'t be impossible to moniter though, if the data transmitted to MS was a one off. Think about it, they ask you to register electronically, they are receiving data from every MS computer in the world. They obviously have the capability to do this, but they would not be able to pull it off without people noticing
