thats a dev kit, only reason it will play DVDr\'s
it ALSO WONT play any retail games

xbox piracy is noone near the horizon

no, the retail xbox HAS NOT been hacked

the warez monkeys have merely gotten ahold of a dev xbox that doesnt include protection so it can boot DVDr\'s

dev xbox + DVD burner = piracy = lame

dev xbox + retail games = :(

good grief, im defending the xbox

It\'s funny how they do such a good job at cracking down on piracy, yet their product still sells poorly.

YET, they suck at Windows piracy protection (So much for the extended research on WinXP, hu?) but Windows sells well.

I know, I know, not a good compairsen, concidering Windows is like a necesity of today and Xbox isn\'t, but it\'s my anti-Microsoft that has to be shown :)

True... but there could be some pretty wicked homebrew games.  Not to mention if you could get an OS to boot.  LinuXbox would deffinately piss off Willy Gates.

it would be VERY easy to fake that vid and fool a billion 13 year olds

but like i said, perhaps they somehow got ahold of a dev kit, which isnt impossible

fake vid...dev kit..real xbox is actually hackable..etc. etc.

It has been hacked... Check out http://www.xboxmods.co.uk ... Same people who made the NEO4 for PS2. They\'re not gonna sell it though as it has been ruled illegal to produce *******s in the UK.
He\'ll probably sell the design to some chinese manufacturer or something though.

Here\'s the update:

"Busy weekend huh ? We had an amazing response to the NEO-X at Bowlers on Saturday. Thanks to John at Pirahna for loaning half of his stall :)

OK we\'re gonna update you on a few things. NEO-X all along has been able to play these backups released by Project-X. We just couldn\'t tell anyone until the releases went public. So to confirm yes they all play on a retail XBOX unit. It can boot all unsigned code and modified XBE\'s. We\'ve used CDR / CDRW / DVDR / DVDRW, and you will also see DiVX, MP3, VCD Players soon as well as internet browsers, Linux tools and much much more. It\'s going to be an exciting year for all XBOX fans.

Now here\'s the bad news. Our situation has still not changed with regards to selling a full mod or even just the import only mod to the public, it just isn\'t worth the legal hassle. However i\'m sure you\'ll see mods popping up from other companies who operate underground - the risk is just too high for us to pursue. It\'s been a lot of fun proving that it can be done though :)"

to top THAT off when he switches back to input1 it hasnt registered that hes ejected it yet so it still has the XBox logo before it goes back to the console

oh and a slighter less convincing reason:
#3 the controller he reaches for is very far off to the right, and as hes moving the controller it doesnt wiggle or move at all with his movements.

I didnt post the vid b/c it was real..I posted b/c i found it slightly humerous and figured others will.
