007 NightFire Announced
« on: May 09, 2002, 03:15:34 PM »
Quote
Those James Bond first-person-shooters just keep on comin\'! EA has announced the followup to the critically-panned Agent Under Fire, a similarly-themed FPS called James Bond 007: NightFire. Nightfire boasts an impressive array of locales, from the Austrian Alps to the depths of the South Pacific, and even outer space! Like Agent Under Fire, NightFire will likewise feature driving levels created by the Need For Speed team, which is good news since the driving levels were the high point of Agent Under Fire. A new addition to the game will be the use of third-person perspective in certain circumstances, either as a function of gameplay mechanics or to show of Bond\'s spy-moves.
Details on the plot are sketchy, but the story revolves around an evil criminal named Rafael Drake who is using his environmental organization as cover for plans for world domination (what else would you expect from a Bond villain?)

NightFire ships for the PC, PS2, GameCube, and Xbox this Fall.

Hopefully another game will match the multiplayer goodness that will be Timesplitters 2.

I believe Eurocom made an Half-Life add-on. I think this would be their first real game. Not sure on that so, if I\'m wrong, anyone can correct me.

Well, Eurocom didn\'t make 007:AUF (though IMO, it was at least decent. While nothing to be amazed about, it was still fun in 4-player multiplayer). The only thing the new game shares with AUF, is the same scriptwriter. Programming, all different (doesn\'t mean it will be better of coarse, but who knows).

I am of coarse, waiting for Timesplitter 2 more then this game, but I\'m not going to blow off this game just yet.
