Here is a cool survey that someone post at another site.

Please answer the following questions.
 
1. How many years have you been a gamer?

since I was 5 (17yrs).

2. What systems do you currently own?

PSX, XBOX

Used to own NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, Gameboy

Soon to own GC and ps2 (if price drops)

3. What system is your all time favorite?

NES,  I started gaming on the NES and there is alot of great classics on the NES.

4. What game has sucked away the most of your free time?

Halo

5. Why do you think you became a gamer?

Because games are fun, challenging, and unlike a movie you control what happens and sometimes how the game ends.

6. What do you think is the biggest problem with gaming?

Piracy is starting to become a problem. Fanboys are another big problem in gaming.

7. What is your favorite gaming genre?

Puzzlers, sports, platformers, action, FPS, and RPGs.  I like all of those genres equally.

8. how many gamers do you know in person?

30+ ( some are casual gamers)

9. What is the best gaming forum on the \'net?

Teamxbox

10. Why do you own your system(s)?

I own an xbox because on the built-in HD and BB.
Because it is the most power console out today.( a little bit more powerful)
Because it comes with 4 controller ports.
Because of Xbox Live.( I have dsl)
Because of games like Halo, DOA3,Fever 2002, PGR, RalliSport, JSRF, PE, Brute Force, Xavier Fox, Hunter The Reckoning, Morrowind, Bloodwake, Halo 2, Bruce Lee, DOA4, Fever 2003, Doom3, Quake 4, Fusion Frenzy, Gaia Blade, Tekki, Kakuto Chojin, Kung Fu Chaos,  Mad Dash, Maximum Chase, Mech Assault, Metal Dungeon, NBA Inside Drive 2002, NBA Inside Drive 2003, Ninja Gaiden X, Orchid, Outlaw Golf, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Quantum Redshift, Rainbow 6, Robotech, Sega GT 2002, Shenmue 2X, Shrapnel: Urban Warfare 2025, Sprinter Cell, Starcadia, Star Trek Elite Force, Star Wars :KOTOR, Strident, Duality, Stlye Laboratory, Unseen, ToeJam and Earl III, Totaled, Toxic Bunny, Unreal Championship, Vexx, Wreckless, Project Phoenix and more to come. (most of the games I listed are exclusive. These games may or may not turn out to be good games. These are some of the games that peek my interest)

1.  11 years, since i was 5

2.  PSX, PS2, Sega, N64

3.  PSX or Sega

4.  Tony Hawk 1,  Dynasty Warriors 3, NHL 2002, and Final Fantasy 7

5.  I always enjoyed doing things in games that I could not do in real life.  Basically, gaming is a way of showing my childhood in that I am pretending.  Im pretending im in a deathmatch, im pretending im Tony Hawk, it is all about having fun.

6.  None of the gaming companies get along anymore.  Everyone should just be figuring out how to make the better games rather than whose prices are lower.  It is all about making a game with the next big thing, a new feature or design that people will like.

7.  In order I would have to say,  RPGs, Sports, FPS, (online gaming), Adventure

8.  I\'d say around 20-25 (hardcore gamers)

9.  I enjoy this one and gamefaqs.  Nintendo Nation\'s was the ultimate though.

10.  For the gaming experience.  I just simply love video games and I am very open minded to games.

. It’s still the best console (yes Xbox is more powerful but it doesn’t use its potential

. Has a huge libery of quality games

About 14.

SNES, N64, GameBoy Advance, GameGear, MegaDrive, DreamCast, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PC.

Can\'t really say, I love any machine that plays good games.

4. What game has sucked away the most of your free time?

Final Fantasy VII.

5. Why do you think you became a gamer?

To enjoy the greatest form of entertainment known to man?

6. What do you think is the biggest problem with gaming?

Yah, piracy, fanboys, BAD GAMES, HIGH PRICES.

7. What is your favorite gaming genre?

Anything but sports and RTS.

About a dozen.

PSX2Central Forums.

10. Why do you own your system?

dunno really

PIRACY, LACK of original titles, oh and lets not forget the high prices

Sports (soccer in particular), action, platformers.

7+ (not many people play videogames where i live)

PSX2C ofcourse

10. Why do you own your system?

I own my system because of the wide range of games available and just basically coz i love videogames.

4.  Final Fantasy 7, Dune 2

5.  Been a part of my life all my life (thanks to my godparents who were huge on computers and gaming)

6.  Sega repeatedly failing  :(

7.  RPG

8.  everyone i know

9.  old PSX2Central :)  not many good ones left really  :(

10.  Final Fantasy  :)  plus there are lots of great games coming out  :)

I think I was born with a pong controller in my hand. For as long as I remember anyhow.. which is roughly 20 years +

Tough call since I like/love all my systems. I\'d have to say the PC is my favorite tho. Much more versitile, and because it evolves and upgrades over time, it envelops consoles though emulation.

4. What game has sucked away the most of your free time?

Quest for Glory

5. Why do you think you became a gamer?

I really don\'t know.. I just grew up with it and it\'s still one of my favorite hobbies. Beats vegging out to a non-interactive movie.

6. What do you think is the biggest problem with gaming?

Publishers who push talented developers into making rehashed and buggy sh*t just so they have a product to put on the shelves and bring in money.

7. What is your favorite gaming genre?

Adventure Games

8. how many gamers do you know in person?

About 10.

9. What is the best gaming forum on the \'net?

Dunno.. I haven\'t found it yet. :p

10. Why do you own your system(s)?

Pretty much the same reason why cokeheads give cheap BJ\'s. :D

I used to play my brothers Vic20 when I was young (cant remember how old).. I got my SNES in 1994 though :)

2. What systems do you currently own?

SNES, PSX, PS2, GB, PGB


3. What system is your all time favorite?

SNES was a great system... PSX too.. Hard.. Cant say.

4. What game has sucked away the most of your free time?

Mario for SNES.. or GTA3, GT3.

5. Why do you think you became a gamer?

I enjoy games.. I was blown away when I saw Destruction Derby for PSX (at that time I didnt even know that there was a PSX). A few months later I got a PSX with DD2 and Soviet Strike :)

6. What do you think is the biggest problem with gaming?

Microsoft ;)

7. What is your favorite gaming genre?

I like most kind of genres.

8. how many gamers do you know in person?

Most people I know.

Lets see I started playing Arcade games when I was 10 so 23 years


2. What systems do you currently own?

PS2, and a Sega CD

The Sega CD is pretty much valuless to sell, my PSX and games I sold to buy me and my step son PS2\'s and I plan on upgrading my PC soon
I might get an Xbox too, but that depends on alot of things. Money is tight these days



3. What system is your all time favorite?

PS2, and getting better each year




4. What game has sucked away the most of your free time?

GT3




5. Why do you think you became a gamer?

Because TV sucks a solid portion of the time and interactive entertainment is obvioulsy more involving.

Basically it helps me pass away the times when I\'m not busy doing a mulititude of other thinns... chores, hobbies, work





6. What do you think is the biggest problem with gaming?

To much wishy washy Japanese melodramatic RPG crap. Not all of its bad, but too much of it is too much

But more then that I cannot stand games that are not complex, challenging engaging. To many basic game formulas, not enough hardcore action strategy games with mutiple scenarios and option

In other words way to many games are shallow. I like very deep games that take strong efforts and understandings to master the best.

Not all games need to be this way, but there are not nearly enough of them




7. What is your favorite gaming genre?

Action RPG, but its a stale genre that only a few games seem to be able to carry it succesfully so far..... see #6





8. how many gamers do you know in person?

not many, I\'m 33 and most of my best friends think gaming is lame, but a few of us enjoy. Probably 10 or so semi serious gamers




9. What is the best gaming forum on the \'net?

PSX2central is home, but since IGN went pay only its not so bad over there anymore.




10. Why do you own your system(s)?

Cause it would suck to rent a system

2. NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Virtual Boy, Sega Genesis, 32x, Playstation, N64, Gamecube, and various PCs.

3. SNES, followed closely by NES

4. Tecmo Super Bowl for Genesis

5. I was given an NES for my fifth birthday.  I liked it, and I\'ve been playing games ever since

6. There are too many systems coming and going.  It\'s too hard to tell what to get and what not to.  Also, I miss some old game formats, such as side scrollers.  I think game design overall was better in the NES days.

7. Adventure, RPG, Strategy.  At times, first person shooters too.  If it counts as a category, my favorite games are PC games you can play online.

8. A lot, let\'s just leave it at that

9. It was the N64cc Forums, but now that they don\'t exist, it\'s these ones.  Of course, I don\'t come here for the gaming parts...

10. I\'m a Nintendo Fanboy, what can I say?  I own most of the systems they\'ve made.  I even have 2 Virtual Boys.  I also got a lot of use out of my Genesis.  There were some great games for it.  I bought my PSX exclusively for Final Fantasy Games.

Too lazy to get out of the house

Originality is starting to die out.  Each game is starting to look like another game played somewhere else.

RPGs, sports, racing, etc etc.

Beats the crap outta me.

10. Why do you own your system(s)?
No specific reason.  I started out playing the atari system and found it fun.  Parents bought famicon, and I played it a lot, and then I asked for Super Famicon for a Christmas present, and played it a lot.  Reasons?  I dunno, just wanted something to play with, I guess.
