Mike Schergers essay did not go down well with his teacher and principal. After being told to write a story about how your body betrays you, he handed in an essay that his teacher did not like. The teacher took the story to the principal.

The story he wrote is about: "an embarrassed teenager whom he described as having "a boner" (an erection)," and the principal said it was "sexually offensive" and suspended him for five days which is the maximum time allowed.

Heather Scherger, Mike\'s Mom, was furious and said that her son\'s story was about real life. Mike has been told that he can go back to the school in three days time if he then agrees to go and see a counsellor for the other two.

I hate it when schools punish students for doing exactly what they prescribe. If they don\'t lay down guidlines when they give you such an assignment, then why would a (realilistically, here) non sexual topic like an embarrasing erection not be an acceptable issue.

Men have 20 erections a day (as taken from this interesting manstuff site), 11 during the day. I like every other person who survived puberty, to hit his 20s knows that, hey, lets face it, they happen at awkward moments.

Yes.... that seems about right to me....

We learn to hide it very well, quickly into puberty. After all erections are easy to come by. Any stray naughty thought, even an accidental \'brush\' by your clothing can cause a physiological reaction.

PS - Boners are a lot of fun!

PPS - I\'m sure that stat is averaged.. afterall, most guys my age like me probably have more than 35 a day, but I\'m sure it\'ll slow down to 5-10 when I\'m much older.
