I need to get broad band installed in my house before this comes to the US.

We should form a team here. But I have a feeling the Viking race of present day Sweden is gonna hog all the enemies and  plunder all our experience points - just like they used to back in the Dark Ages! ;)

The IGN article doesn\'t give any sales numbers. The only other real info is that the number of copies available was probably a lot less than when X was released. Duh! Good thing, Square\'s server got buried as it was with folks trying to register right after it went on sale.

One thing I didn\'t realize until yesterday is you need the HD to play FFXI. I had just been getting used to the idea Sony had put the whole HD issue on the back burner for now. Wrong!

Its a Japanese Daily Top 10 chart.. Updates once a day.. :)

EDIT: Btw.. Square shipped 400 000 units.. Not bad if they all were soldout ;)

i never doubted the adapter add on once i heard top play station two franchises (final fantasy, gran turismo, twisted metal black) were going on line

but im not sure about that 100 dollar hard drive . i will get it but not sure about everyone else.. . .

any ways this is no fun having to wait 6+ months for this game...

For a game that was NEVER expected to hit a million (due to the obvious fact that its an online only game. Which few people especially console, are into) amazing. Wonder what will the sales be like once it hits the states.

Nice try but even sony can\'t sell 100.00+ add ons and a 40.00 game. even if its japanese favorite final fantasy.

And what makes you the know all to what Sony can and can do? :rolleyes: Look, even I am certain this game will not sell spectacularly well because of its nature (online only), but for an online game only that requires the hard drive, even if it was JUST 200,000, that is pretty good. Now, how much they have sold, don\'t know. But given that this game has sold out in many areas, that is still great.

Remember Everquest? The game only has like 500,000 subscribers. Yet this IS the most successful online only game so far. If FFXI can even match that (on a system where a harddrive and internet connection are not out of the box which MS likes to tout for their system) that would still be an amazing achivements.

[edit]From what I can gather on Lunar3\'s post, he was trying to downplay FFXI being sold out by saying "well, how much did they REALLY sell because I (Lunar3) believes that Sony is incapable of selling add-ons (especailly the harddrive)." Gave some arbitrary number (200,000) and implying at least that this was a bad number. At least, this is what I thought what he was trying to say (not in so many words, but yeah).
