Your Japanese correspondent here,
I am happy to report that FFXI is back online and operational.

Square has also extended to free play period till June 30th to all customers as an apology.

Server maintenance will occur at 9:30 PM for 2 hours.

The adapter works with virtually everything,
56k, cable, DSL, etc

so i just take the cable cord from my cable internet and plug it in the back of the adapter and the ps2 gets cable internet speeds?

that may sound dumb but it just sounds too good to be true

To be more specific, the ps2 supports Ethernet Cat-5 cables (the phone cord like cable thats thinker then standard phone cable, but connects in the same way)

If you mean, Coax, when your talking about Cable Cord then no, that won\'t work.  The cable (coax) needs to first go to the cable modem that you got with your connection (or bought) and then to your ps2.

If you want to connect both your computer and ps2 that can be more complicated, and may require a internet hub and or router to split and cordinate the internet requests.

Some cable modems have both ethernet and USB outputs, so you might be able to use the ethernet for the ps2 and the USB for your computer.

Chrono, I\'ve been debating about purchasing the game.

First off, I wasn\'t sure if I\'d be able to play it from the U.S., being that I\'ll be moving there in about 2 months.  Second, even if I was able to hook up to the network over there, how is Square handling the billing portion?  Is it by credit card, or by all other means of payment here in Japan where you have to pay the bill at your local convenience store or through your bank account?
blah blah blah, blah blah blah
Oh just shut up and quit your gripin\'
