Paging all racers!

I\'m writing a paper about the street racing scene for my anthropology class and need some quotes from people who race, whether on the track or the street.

I just need answers to questions like; what causes you to spend so much time, and money on your car in order to go fast?  Or what are your views on domestic beast\'s versus sport compacts?  and pretty much anything else you would to throw in.

This is a report on the culture of racing, so any in sight you have to the culture would be great.

Streetracing in general.... bad idea
More organized street racing...not against it
Time and money..well, everyone needs a hobby, can win money if one goes pro.
Domestic muscle Vs. econo rockets.... I see no difference..quick is quick. Looking igood is looking good. To each their own.
Show or Go..doesnt matter to me..what  ever floats yer boat..just dont be tacky in the process.

Sleeper cars are the way to go.
Safe street racing is an oxymoron.
Fast cars, fast weekends, fast women (or men, for the ladies).

lol, you can also use the \'hollywood lines\'... ie, fast and the furious and gone in 60 for clues... lines like
\'I live my life a quarter mile at a time\'

Fatal... what the F*** do you know about fast cars fast women???

Too bad Omen you couldn\'t talk to my dad, he\'s a car freak.  Has built and raced cars since he was 12 years.  I shold have payed more attention.  All I gathered from it all is that he loves the adrenaline rush from going fast.

 And the hot chics in the car calendars!!

Lol, he\'s just asking for quotes, and I know that that is one of the most common stereotypes heard/seen around the amateur racing scene.  The first two, however, are mine, and I believe in 100% - especially... the first one... lol.. I\'m making that one 150%!

Street racing is bad, too much risk for bystanders.

Like luckee said, a hobby is a hobby.  Everyone has to have one.  Nothing wrong with spending hundreds or thousands on your car as long as you have the money AND it isn\'t tacky.

Domestic vs. import... doesn\'t matter.  Only thing I hate is haters who don\'t like one or the other simply because their freinds don\'t, or because they happen to own the opposite.
