Columbia licenses the movie rights to Eidos Interactive\'s sci-fi action role-playing game.

Columbia Pictures has announced that it has secured the rights to create a sci-fi movie franchise based on Deus Ex, Eidos Interactive\'s action role-playing game from 2000. The project will be developed and produced by Laura Ziskin, who most recently produced Spider-Man for the studio. Greg Pruss is writing the screenplay.
"Deus Ex is an exciting world full of great bad guys and good guys with a movie star role in the character of JC Denton," said Ziskin. "There is an amazing ambition and depth to the story, and we\'re excited that it has attracted a writer of Greg\'s intelligence and ability."

Like the game, the film is set in a futuristic world plagued by disease, a crippled economy, and global terrorism. The story will follow JC Denton, an elite counterterrorism agent caught in the midst of a huge government conspiracy. We\'ll post more information about the upcoming film as it becomes available.

The same can be said for their churches too
I don\'t want my mind or my arms tied in bondage
I don\'t want to be another cloned state tool
When I\'m with my friends, when I\'m at a show
Thats when everything is OK
Thats why I follow my heart every single day
