to answer that question,

quote from gamespots E3 coverage:

"While there will be no keyboard for the PlayStation 2, there is an on-screen keyboard that you can use to send messages to the competition. However, it can only be used while the game is paused. To keep from slowing down the game you can enter and save 10 quick statements for use on the fly."

This all sounds good...except that maybe they\'re going to make it a little too much like Sega\'s game (decreased momentum, more on the fly animations)?

I liked the engine before, feels more like real football then 2K2.

About damn time they added the preseason though...this feature was in the 989 games for the PSX...that kicks ass.

I like the halfback option passing.  I have Madden 2002 for the Gamecube and play it often.  I don\'t really care if there\'s a preseason or not, but what is definitely needed is a better ending when you win the Super Bowl.  2002\'s is lame, lame, lame.

Another addition to the wish list:  The wishbone offense. :p

Yeah,  I played 18 games for that lame ending.  At least it could have opened up something or gave you some madden cards...

I\'m glad that the rosters can be updated.  That was the MAIN reason I bought NFL2K2 last year.

Well the player stats, and team stats, be updated throughout the year also?  I saw the ranks for the teams on a board and the stats are fine for last year, but some teams have potential to be better.

Yeah, the Ram defense for one.  It is only 77 in Madden 2002.

I think they prooved last season it is better then that.

those ratings are \'subject to change\'

EA only based ratings on signed players and left unsigned players off of the rosters at E3.

They just needed a rating system for E3.

They will change it!;)

I went 7-3 at the show and beat up on Keenan McCardell of the Jags online while he was in Florida. The game is fricking awesome, and while it feels like last years, it has been tweaked in a number of ways. Pass coverage is better, the stiff arm works, and the gang tackles are a great addition. No more watching a tackle happen, you can jump right in and make sure the guy goes down.

I\'m just counting down the days until next year. About the Superbowl celebrations, one fo the programmers told me it had been redone, but it still wasn\'t much. He said that so few people saw it, that it wasn\'t worth the resources to make it really spectacular.

well, he meant that they could take the time to improve something everyone will see, like pass coverage, or they could take the time to make a better celebration, that only a few people would see. It sucks, but it makes sense at least.
