When PS2 has been out god knows how much longer the x-box and I start seeing vids on the web of 16 players on Halo etc etc.....   it really pisses me off.

Sony seem to build the foundations and get bored and decide to build a sandcastle instead.

It all boils down to sheer laziness in every department, we deserve more from a £200 console not just the usual bad ports and make do stop-gaps.

Sony themselves are making some of themost innovative and graphicslly impressive games this generation.. if you are referring to developers, then stop blaming Sony

if you are talking about the games on the console, then why switch over tyo XBox?  for Halo?  for 16 player Halo?  you will NEVER play 16 player halo, you need 4 XBoxs and 4 TV\'s to play that..

PS2 has the superior software line-up currently.. that is something that even the most argent XBox fanboy cant deny.. whether this will continue is debatable, but it really seems to me your mind is already set on ignorant thoughts..

All that\'s needed is some form of quality control and a man with some balls in SCEE, at the moment there are floods of rubbish games coming out every day, same problem as PSOne. PS2 has shown potential with games like MGS2 (a movie that let you play sometimes) and GTA3 but, in my opinion, more is required to stop the rot.

so why go to XBox?  Xbox suffers just as badly, only its less noticible because the sheer number of games being made its proportionally smaller..

you want quality control, go to GCN or DreamCast..

hows this for quality control.. you dont like the game, dont play it??  there are lots and LOTS of great games on PS2, and all consoles, you choose the ones to play, you can hardly blame sony for this.

Just to add doesnt it make you wonder why it takes soooo much computing power from and xbox to make games that look the same as a ps2.

XBox games do look better.. but for a console that came out almost 2 years later.. not good enough  :)  many PS2 games are comparible, but most arent :)

PS2 180x more poweful then PS1.  PS2 was released 5 years after PS1.

Xbox slightly more powerful then PS2 (in certain areas), released 2 and a half years later.

Compare.

don\'t forget two years of development for ps2 versus none for X-box.

Although it doesn\'t have Gran Turismo (Hah!!) the one game stopping me from trading at the moment.

Bob,
I don\'t quite agree that they look better (well DoA3 being the only one)... what did we get up until now? Choppy framerates, slowdowns, 30 fps titles, jaggies too, blur problems... Image quality and textures might be the area where Xbox outshines PS2 at the moment, but if that comes at a cost of framerate and blur... well, that\'s just my opinion. ;)

don\'t forget development and learning-curves of programming on a radical new architecture without libraries (PS2), to Xbox with an architecture that\'s several years old, has a lot of libraries, easy DirextX development and very straight forward hardware...

I suppose to have the best of both worlds you need to own both consoles.

Forget Gamecube, it doesn\'t count.
