Metroid Prime to be "Roughly seven hours"

I think the graphics are pretty nice, nothing special, but nice. Everything is well modeled, but lacks something to make them look realistic, i can\'t put my finger on it.

That said, I will rent this game. I never got into any Metroid, especially Super Metroid, #1 game of all time by EGM. I can\'t see myself beating an FPS more than a few times through by myself. This game needs multiplayer, could be the next Halo, if it does.

I beat Super Metroid in about 7.  I guess it isn\'t that bad.  I\'ve played through Super Metroid about 3 times and I\'m going to do it again soon.

It won\'t have multi-player since it\'s more an adventure game than an FPS.

yeah, but it is still "shoot this, flip this, kill this, open this" etc.

I still question why they put it into FP viewpoint anyway.

Sorry, Altered, but if you\'re going by EGM\'s 100 Greatest Games Of All Time list, then Super Metroid was not #1. I don\'t think it even placed anywhere on the list.

#1 game of all time was Tetris, which I\'m sure most will agree.
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Super Metroid did get #1.

I disagree with that call.. but it\'s what EGM gave it.

Super Metroid was awesome.  Original was much harder though.

Sounds like Metroid Prime might only be worth a rental but who knows.
FPS  multiplayer is mad old anyway.  SO played out.  Need games like Red Faction, Renegade and Castle Wolfenstein to keep  that genre interesting

They claim FP was chosen because so the traditional narrow pathways and corridors could be navigated.  Something like that.  Also the team has plenty of experience with first person.

We must be thinking of different lists or different mags because I know for a fact that SM was NOT #1.

My list was from the 100th issue of EGM, the one with the most famous characters in gaming all over the cover. (Sonic, Mario, Crash, Link, DK, etc.)

If SM did place somewhere on the list, I know it was definitely NOT #1. That honor went to Tetris, which makes perfect sense.

A simple, addictive puzzler, 2 players, almost infinite replay value, available on almost every gaming device out there, several versions, how could it not be #1?

I am getting sick of short games too....I used to buy games and enjoy them for weeks, but now I finish games in less than 10 hours and I don\'t tend to replay them for the sake of it...
The last long-ish game I played was Super Monkey Ball. Now, that was fun!
