Death of a friend, I need some help on what to give...
« on: May 29, 2002, 11:48:47 AM »
A few of the Senior guys where ova our wrestling coaches house last nite.  His wife went into the other room to breastfeed the baby.  She had a heart attack, and died while feeding.  Man, it was disheartning (spelling).  I don\'t kno what to do for him, what could you guys suggest that we get him that could aid him, or something.  I kno nothing could take the pain away.  :(

Really the only thing I could think of is a card, but that has to be the most horrible thing I\'ve heard.

Man it was the most horrible thing I\'ve ever experienced.  I mean it was a house filled with testosterone, and when it came down, we all were a wreck.  Things like that just tear U apart.   And we aren\'t even directly effected by it.  Mr. Hudd lost a wife, his son and baby lost a mother.  I can only think how the baby will feel when he grows up, and learns of how his mom died.  Not that he was responsible, but that could have lasting effects on him, knowing his mom died while feeding life into him.  Man....

Life is precious...it needs to be celebrated and not destroyed.  Its bad enough when death occurs in unforseeable/controllable ways, but we don\'t need to progress aid it by killing one another.

When my neighbor across the street died the whole block made food for the family, enough to last a week.  When you get that depressed making food is the last thing on your mind.  Just think of things you can do to keep the house running.  And let him know he has friends to get him through this.

Wow! :(  Maybe you could help out around the house, maybe mow the lawn or something.  Give him about a month or so and take him out to dinner or a show.

There is nothing you can give or say or do that\'s going to make this sitation better for him. Depressing yes, but that\'s going to be the way it is until he can come to grips with what\'s happened and let the pain slip away.

All you can do, is give him two things.. time.. and moral support. It may not make things better for him the in mean time.. but he\'ll appreceate it later.

My condolences. :(

I\'m sorry to hear that man. I hope that when the baby does grow up, he won\'t feel that it was his fault. It wasn\'t. She would have had that heart attack even if she wasn\'t feeding. What\'s even sadder is that the baby won\'t know what his mom was like. Those kinds of things are really sad.
