wow.. keep in mind folks that
1.) The xbox and ps2 price drops were the same
2.) Ps2 also dropped the price on memory cards, controllers, 1st party games. But i doubt it had that much impact
3.) The GCN price drop was less then the ps2 and xbox price drop.
4.) The GCN had no new games released..

The gamecube beat the xbox! Go Nintendo

Wait a second.. the article says
Sales in April
This is before any price cuts!

how silly of me.. Pardon..

:shy:

still 218 000 =

Sony said PS2 sales went up 5-8 times after the pricecuts.. So we can expect 1 090 000 to 1 744 000 in May?

Hum, those numbers would be a tad bit too high, because the price drop was just at E3, which was at the end of Mai. So, if PS2 sold through at the same rate as it did in April (218\'000/month), we can expect it to sell ~147\'000 until the price drop + the units sold after the price drop with the 5 to 8 increase.

Based on these numbers, we can expect a Mai sell through of about ~400\'000 to ~550\'000 units.

Those are some impressive numbers for all systems...I expected the Xbox to be much lower considering its\' price and the lack of games...

I would love to see the effect the price drops had...

For XB, probably little if any effect, maybe they should come out with more games?

Actually Xbox had a sales boost cause when I was buying my PS2 right after the price drop, I asked the guy how Xbox was doing and he said that they were doing better thanks to the price drops.  Im sure though GC and PS2 kicked the CrapBox\'s a$$

How\'d you come up with that conclusion?:nerd:

Being that the numbers were so close to GC I wouldn\'t doubt if they were running neck and neck...

Sorry pops.  Maybe you should check out some news and know that GC is selling real well due to Resident Evil.  And Xbox has what???

From the article:

"Sony`s PS2 sold through approximately 218,000 units in April,"

Hope that answers your question, Mr Bob.
