lol...it wouldn\'t bother me any if the Cubs won their division, or the Astros since they always choke in the playoffs against the Braves.  Woo ha Braves in first place, and the pitching is starting to come around.  GO BRAVES!

2-peat for the D-Backs!!! Or not, but you know. Have any of you heard of Junior Spivey? He\'ll be one of the best 2nd basemen in a couple years. He\'s batting .327 this year.

As for the Cubs....what happened to them? Last year they were running with the D-Backs then they fall off the map. Maybe this year they\'ll do the opposite, suck at the beginning and do good at the end.

Anyone who hasn\'t heard of Junior Spivey deserves to be shot, any Fantasy Baseball Players, anyway.

Cubs will come back strong in the 2nd half. Anyone who thinks otherwise is quite dumb. Our Bullpen is finally starting to get healthy again. Losing Farnsworth and Gordon killed, but once we get them both back, we\'re goona kick all ass.

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!

First of all, what was the point of making a thread simply for the purpose of bashing a team and its fans?  The Cubs are a damn good team, even if their record doesn\'t show it.  Alou will come around, it\'s just a matter of time.  They have a lot of really strong young talent, and they will only get better.  They are a better team to be fans of than about half the other teams out there.

Most pathetic team in the world?  Hardly.  Let me name teams I would rather be a cubs fan than a fan of: The Devil Rays, The Blue Jays, The Orioles, The Tigers, The Royals, The Rangers, The Expos, The Phillies, The Marlins, The Pirates, The Brewers, The Padres, etc.  The Cubs have a bright future, and a ton of tradition.

In conclusion: Jar, you are an ass

Anyway, Jamas, I would not say that it\'s worse to be a Cubs fan than a Sox fan.  Why?  Because it hurts more to come that close and fail, than to not come close.  Ask Bill Buckner.  There\'s a reason why Boston has the most bitter fans in baseball.

The Cubs should come back strong.  They had a lot of injuries, and are dealing with a lot of slumps.  Those are all things you get over.

Unfocused: Braves suck.  When Alomar starts playing like...well...Alomar, watch out.

Fayded: D-Backs suck.  God other guys.

Hey, I\'m a Mets fan.  Besides, the greatest moment in that series came in the bottom of the ninth in game five.  We all know it.

And James has lot\'s of fantasy teams.  So, yeah.

Well why not say you\'re a Cubs fan then?  Otherwise, it looks like you\'re just randomly bashing a team.

And I still don\'t think they have a bad team at all.  They really do have a very talented club, whether they\'ve played like it or not.

That was a f*cking fluke, anybody could win 4 games in the world series with schilling and johnson, it wont happen this year though the yankees are a better hitting team, they just plain sucked last year i think through the whole playoffs they hit like 234 or something.

It was a fluke was it? Give the team credit, the deserved to win. What was the score in the series, like 20 somethin to 8? Got lucky...hah. If anyone got lucky it was the Yankees...winning those 2 games ok Byung Hyun Kim in the bottom of the 9th. I can see it one night, but not the next. THAT\'S a fluke. The D-Backs also beat Rivera, the best closer in the game, in the bottom of the 9th.

Your forgetting that Miguel Batista pitched an awesome game 3 in NY, the D-Backs lost that game by one I believe.

Johnson and Schilling also pitched a hell of alot of innings in the first 2 rounds too. Says something about arguably the 2 best pitchers in the league.

Fluke my ass.

The D-Backs could only win when they pitched Johnson or Schilling.  That says something.  If the series was a number of games in which they had to win with another pitcher to win it, they might not have been so lucky.

And how is rallying for a win against Kim luck, but doing the same against Rivera isn\'t?

Rivera is alot better than Kim, or was last year. Rivera had something like a .032 ERA in the playoffs. I said i could see the Yankees pulling one off against the D-Backs in the bottom of the 9th, not two. That was a fluke. Sure, it might have been a fluke that the D-Backs beat Rivera in the 9th of game 7, but not as lucky as the Yankees winning two games in a row after rallying against Kim in the 9th.

Your right, it does say something that the D-Backs could only win with Schilling on the mound, it says that they are two of the top 3 pitchers in the league.

It also says that they have no depth beyond that.  If it were an nine game series, and they had to throw out two other pitchers for games 8 and 9, it would be a different story.

And Rivera is better than Kim.  Kim made bad pitches.  It wasn\'t a fluke, it was good play by the Yanks, and bad play by Kim.  Homeruns aren\'t flukes.

Miguel Batista isn\'t bad, and Brian Anderson pitched a good game in NY.

I know BHK gave them some meatballs. But still, what are the odds that a team can rally in the 9th two days in a row and win? Admit it, the D-Backs winning the World Series wasn\'t a fluke. Just because they don\'t have many big name players doesn\'t mean they aren\'t good.
