Pedestrians and goofy stuff...
« on: June 07, 2002, 10:38:29 AM »

Well, I just got off the phone...........

There\'s a newly constructed road by my house which I used to use alot due to it\'s convieniance. Soon lot\'s of people found this road, which happens to run alongside a park, and traffic was flowing.

I don\'t blame others for using it, it\'s a good alternative to the jammed parallel runing road. The thing is a handfull of joggers and cyclers use it too...

Now these fruitcake\'s also had a brand new bike/jogging path installed alongside this road, but being the brain-dead peeps make you wanna squish them like silly putty screwballs that they are, they insist on doing their "thang\'" in the freaking streets....with the 2000 pound cars....

I bet you can guess where this is going...

WAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!   WAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

They complained to the park board which has jurisdiction over roads that border the parks, too many cars!! Soooo the park board has shut the road down to the automobiles. SAD!

Those whiny ass freaks have just wasted allll that money-- and f-ed up thousands of other people. Nice to know that 10-20 people can ruin it for thousands.

CLUE: IT\'S A FREAKING ROAD!!! (you know-- like designed for CARS!!)

This was all confirmed by Cliff from the parks board whom I just spoke with on the phone.

In case your curious, Minneapolis Minnesota is on the leading edge of Socialism run amok.

COME ON IN!!! The water\'s fine.....

Hmmm, joggers/cyclists = brain-dead liberals.

Interesting assumption.

Here\'s another one:  Couch-sitting, potato chip eating, truck driving lard asses = brain-dead conservatives.

It\'s not any more true than yours.

Instead of complaining, why don\'t you collect the signatures of 10-20 of your fellow commuters and take them to your state representative.  These kinds of decisions can be overturned with the right pressure applied.

Core, don\'t get all defensive on me. My reference was to the joggers/cyclists that went running to the park board in this instance, to get the road closed (in other words not ALL joggers/cyclists are liberals).

I doubt those (ped\'s) that caused this horrid decision were conservatives, so my statement holds:p

As far as your suggestion goes, I did contact all 4 news channels with this story. I guess we\'ll see if there is a liberal bias.

In the long run, it does nothing more that tweek my nads. I couldn\'t care less ultimately. I know we are D00/\\/\\/\\/\\3d!!!!!!!!

I retitled, and removed the liberal and Nazi reference\'s.... amazing what some coffee can do

The more I think about it, the more I should be upset with the Park Board. Here\'s why.

They shut the road down due to complaints about auto\'s not yeilding to crosswalk ped\'s, and reports of speeding.

WHAT?!?!?!

Uhhhhmmm.... Shouldn\'t the cops be there to ticket the offenders instead of closing down the ENTIRE ROAD?!?

THAT is what\'s really f-ed up.

"Awwww hell leroy, I\'m too tired to pull over that there car... How about we just close the road?"

I still don\'t understand why you\'d assume they are liberals, unless it\'s just because they hold the majority in your state.  I don\'t understand why it\'s impossible for conservatives who happen to like jogging to make a self-centered decision to have a road closed so they can reduce their risk of being hit by a car.  I\'m not saying it\'s right or wrong, I just don\'t understand your viewpoint.  I\'d be willing to bet that not everything that inconveniences you is a liberal plot.

BTW you\'ll have better luck actually solving the problem by taking it up with your local government and state legislature.  If the news media in Minneapolis ignores your story, it doesn\'t necessarily indicate a liberal bias.  It could just be a boring story.

True Core... Yes this state IS very liberal. Well, I\'m a conservative (to put it mildly) and I like walking and riding too on occasion, but I guess being taught to look both ways and all that good stuff I would rather look after myself than have the government get involved with more choking laws. To me that\'s the big difference.

Lib\'s tend to want gov to be their keepers while con\'s tend to want to be left free.

Funny Ghetto, how exactly were those bicycles and shoes manufactured?? In the magical land of non-polluting factories:laughing:  Rubber and steel baybee, just like a cars. Or were you refering to the evil exhaust which is much less than nature emits on her own through volcanic activity and such?

I\'m with cig on this liberals tend to play the emotion card instead of the logic one when it comes to there political prowess, so instead hearing the whole truth from the cyclists that went to the board, I\'m sure they gave them the worst horrors about when they were walking fluffy and had to yank him out of the road because he was about to get hit, so instead of thinking this through they just went ahead and closed it, besides what the hell, why do bikers always think they own the F*CKING road, especially down the backroads here, they are going like 15 mph and i\'m going like 60 yet they stay in the middle of the f*cking road, so if they were intelligent they might want to move out of my f*cking way. Anyways now that I left off some steam, they should of discussed this within the town, instead of just closing off because of a few complaining baboons.

Yes, liberal old New York    Liberal, even though we have a Republican governor and state congressional lines drawn in such a way that Republicans are all but guaranteed a majority in the state congress.

But, yeah, I think the whole Liberal thing is pretty ignorant.  Your political views have nothing to do with things like this.  I\'m very liberal politically, but I agree with you completely on how stupid your situation is.  Also, I don\'t get the whole conservatives want less government and liberals want more thing.  If you look at the political spectrum, the most conservative things have the most government envolvement, and the most liberal things have the least.  It\'s just the role of the government that they disagree on.

Most liberals are in favor of welfare and affirmative action while conservatives are not.  Which is more government to less respectively.

People always say those two things together like they are bad things. Well ok, they are when abused. However I think as a nation, we need both welfare and afirm.act. in MODERATION. I think it would be terrible for things to continue with them as they have been in the past as well as being terrible to getting rid of the both.0
