Educate me in the art of High Speed internet
« on: June 08, 2002, 06:35:14 AM »
okay, I use to have Cable, then I moved into an area that had no ADSL, DSL, Cable, nothing...all because branches were not set up out here.

anyways, I\'m wondering if there is ANY other way to get high speed internet? and don\'t say T1 or T3 :) I\'d love to be able to hook one up but i\'m not rich. So is there ANY other from of high speed net?

I\'m in Canada btw if that makes any difference.

I think Satellite would be your last hope.  I used to hear a lot about it back then but dunno anything about it now.

THX is right, Satelite would be your best hope, unless someone else very local to you already has some sort of high speed circuit and would be willing to let you tap into it, you are SOL...

You can ask the phone company if they have ISDN available, its over 2x as fast as dial up, but it does cost more..  Also there is the options of Frame Relay, but usually the equipment costs and such will put it out of the price range of a regular user..

I would highly recommend Satelite, you can even get good rates on TV as well in a  combination deal, so it would actually probably work out for you in multiple ways.
