« on: June 10, 2002, 03:54:50 PM »
Today, as I understand it (June 10th), is supposed to be Wipeout Fusion\'s release date.  Soooooo, as soon as folks get it in the states, could you post your thoughts here???

Course if I get it first...I\'ll be a good boy & post here myself!:D  But, TRU ain\'t got it in Richmond, VA yet:(...

No...it\'s still not out in the states.  I\'m looking forward to renting it...how can WipEout have slowdown?  Doesn\'t that just kill the experience?

yeah the slowdown does kinda kill it, but maybe as your at 60hz you wont get it, but maybe they will iron it out as its been here for ages

also there was some other probs.... some weopons were very crap , like too powerful, also youd pop through wall, and fly off the track

Well, got it today!  Just about to check it out & thought I\'d trudge up this thread again.  I\'ll post back later on how I like it.

being a die-hard wipeout fan myself - it does come as an annoyance, but doesn\'t kill the experience. Slow downs only occur when you have 16 ships and weapons enabled (when they all shoot at the same time), so there is a way to switch them off if you prefer no slowdowns. IMO, the game has other more annoying flaws then slowdown. Still my most played game though. :)

Too stinkin\' busy to offer a proper review at this time.  But I *will* say this:  WipEout Fusion is *classic WipEout* drilled up 10x.  Beautiful, eye-numbing tracks.  Running against this many competitors is a treat too.  Sense of speed is awesome as is trying to stay with the twisties.  Excellent game IMO.  Have yet to see slowdown...so perhaps the US version got a lil\' tweaking? (or I just don\'t notice it).  Anyway, I like the game a lot.
